Listening attentively, I could hear / see robots on the summits of the soundwaves. They looked like depictions of Coronavirus. The more I focused on them, the more obvious they became. Nanobots riding soundwaves. And then they bounced off and floated through the air. The robots came out of the music and drifted into my head, where they made contact with my brain. As soon as they landed, they threw up mists or cloaks of very fine rainbow material.

But I could feel what they were doing. The bastards ate my braincells. Little needles stinging into my cortex.

That was the moment I realized I was tripping pretty dang hard. Especially for ten grams fresh. Started dancing again.

The point I'm working towards is: I'm going to grow a lot more of these. Really happy with them. Once again thanks Odissey ans Kirkeng. It's been a while since I had my ass kicked by something at such a low dose. Awesome species.


I had a recent trip where one ai track was on loop in my head (only one I've really ever listened to) .. felt like a hack attempt.  I think people should be wary

My first & last Zapo attempt was extremely odd.  Color inversions like green tint overlay, medium-strength muscle paralysis/weakness and very little of classic trip sensations/visuals.  Anyone else had such an experience ??

I have 3 PF Tek jars of Zaps fully colonized and plan to top fruit them. I've got a 60/40 coir/cactus soil mix currently Pasteurizing for the casing.  The plan is to open the jars, scrap off the dry verm layer then case to the rim of the jar packing it down.  These will then be placed in a water tub show box for fruiting.  Just want to confirm this will be the most likely method to succeed or if there are any suggestions for improvement.

As you've read, my level of experience is N=1, so for what it's worth. For me these really stood out in terms of potency and total lack of bodyload. I'm looking for a more or less fixed set of species to focus on and these made it to the list.

Then again, that was one trip. Need to feed these to my wife for the official seal of approval.

I know there's many variables involved here, such as 'is there really notable difference between species that contain the same substances / precursors of substances?'

But as far as my experience goes, sect Zapo really isn't that visual. You said it lacked 'classic ... visuals'. Considering how godawfully strong they are, I found zapo, subtrop and ingeli lacking in OEVs. Cyan clade woodlovers can have me walk through tunnels of patterns that obscure the actual surroundings. Pans idem.

For me, the main advantage of these is that they lack any bodyload and can be harvested fresh almost year-round. For wild visuals, I'd recommend pan cyans or subaeruginosa or the like.

spore prints of Zapos can last roughly?
I was struggling to get this species to germinate on plates unlike last year.
Must have stored them wrong or maybe needed to be rehydrated.

Not long.  I think waaaay back we discussed this on like page 2 or 3 of this thread for a paragraph or two.  Under a year usually.  I have some fairly recent popo prints if you want one (or a wedge) Just lmk!

Just put some Zap Popo spores from two different members to agar yesterday.

These guys like similar environments as pans, right? High fae, manure sub, ph adjusted casing?

I only started fiddling with them very recently, but here's plain coir, with coir for casing, in a tub (zap 'Popo')

Have to see how these flushes turn out in the following weeks, but this is absolutely acceptable to me, and just (buffered) coir. Simple as it gets

Yep. All section zapotecorum draw plenty of energy from the grain. No need for overthinking substrates.

It's almost the same as Mico Zapotec's substrate, but I use cow manure compost instead of manure so I skipped the sand.

Substrate
- 35% Coir
- 30% Straw
- 15% Hwfp
- 10% Cow Manure Compost(sifted)
- 10% Vermiculite

Casing
- 60% Coir
- 30% Cactus Soil(sifted)
- 10% Vermiculite
- 1g/l Calcium Hydroxide

Do you hydrate your straw before pasteurization? Every time I've added it dry I end up with pasteurization failure. I figured there wasn't enough water content to get it up to temperature

Absolutely, when I make substrate with straw, it is the first thing I start with. I don't boil water, but I'll use the hottest water coming out of my tap, make sure there's enough water to completely submerge the straw.

Then I let it sit while I do all the other ingredients. Then I put the straw in a colander and rinse it with hot water from the tap to get rid of dust, let it drain and still squeeze out excess water before adding it to the substrate.

I believe it's important to make sure that there isn't anything in a substrate that isn't properly hydrated before you start pasteurizing.
