I've never read Stamets after the lambasting he gets here, and only read the McKenna brother's book on cultivating (which really isn't bad at all), never read any of his writings on the experience. Interesting  to hear it's a bit suspect.

I give this stuff away- just dumped a bunch of gummies that were sub-par compared to current ones, why give friends gross stuff? We're all space cadets but it can taste good too. And there's always an abundance of raw material.

I've spent a great deal of time trying to talk myself out of integrity and compassion so that I could use my powers for evil. Alas, I don't have it in me.

I find McKenna to be a great speaker, I should read his books.

Funny dude, listening to him maybe makes him feel less egotistical? He seems self aware.

This channel has a lot of his audios.

I had a long talk with my awesome (high integrity and compassionate) brother in the 90s, me on a couple bottles of Robo, how ultimately it all doesn't matter and you can be a hit man or whatever and it doesn't matter, and his gentle insistence that it does, sticks with me 30 years later. I knew it of course, I was being a hypothetical pompous teen, but it's nice to remember how hard he defended being good. It's a big deal.

Yeah. For all those people who would deny me compassion and empathy, for all the profit one could make from taking advantage of them, I simply do not have the ability to place my self interests over those of the common good.

As counter intuitive as it sounds, being altruistic and helping the common good is the best thing to do for youself since it elevates your entire sphere of reality

McKenna's Food of the Gods was an interesting read. Not to be taken seriously,  but it gets the wheels turning and sometimes there's diamonds in the rough.

Like Hancock in that way.

I would rather get high with Hunter S Thompson than McKenna. Personal decision.
I feel like we could gel better.

I love the insight from this forum. I wish I would have read more here when I was younger for sure.

I have am not defending anyone, but I will say that the authors of the early books helped me cultivate my own passion for this field. I can confidently say without a Tim Leary documentary on the History channel at 2AM, a book or two from my public library as a teenager I would have never made it to this wonderful forum!

I will second that! I would also be on edge knowing the kind of adventures he had while doing drugs.

I don't know if it's precisely Sundays, but I have noticed a slight decrease in the forum's activity.

But well—for many, these dates are usually quite busy. I understand that too.

And I'm glad summer is ending (probably for the first time). I have never been in such incapacitating temperatures for so long...

I know giving people a surprise dose of psychedelics is a no-no, but if I could do it only once it would be at a Church social. Preferably a mega-church's Sunday social.

Then the devil cosplayers would arrive.
