Hi everyone,

I've been around the forum for quite a while. I used to have another account, but I only interacted a couple of times. I have a bit more experience now, so I’m hoping to be a little more active this time.

I wanted to share a little bit of my cultivation. I grow in an inverted box and mist manually. I've tried many different cultivation methods, but I hate maintenance, so I prefer to keep things as simple as possible.

These are Ps. mexicana “Monte Grande”

Excellent job, I see you have figured them out, takes a flush or two in my experience, but BOOM... you knocked it out of the park. Thanks for sharing the wonderful shots, Mushroom photography... FTW!

Not trying to promote anything, but I got these from happispores. They came from a clone I took from a more discreet grow that produced some beauties.

For the substrate, I use a Millet 1:3 ratio:

45% coco coir
45% chopped oat straw with some grains
10% composted cow manure

Mix everything and sterilize it all at once.
Then I inoculate, let it colonize for about a month, and cased 50:50 peat moss/vermiculite.

I mist every 2–3 days depending on the humidity. Pins usually start showing up after 10 days-2 weeks, and they take around 3–4 weeks to mature depending on the room temperature.
They seem to prefer it on the warmer side, around 27–30°C.

I've been growing other species the same way, I just change the substrate.

Thank you, 99.99  and nuggets
Will send it to grain soon. Yeah, my goal is to get many fruits, not stones. :mushroom2:

Their exotic list is amazing, that moment when you realize you are just scratching the surface playing with a few of them.  The endless possibilities, NOW were talkin'

It's definitely nice when you can find good genetics without being ignored for reaching out to growers directly, even worse is getting scammed xd. At the same time, I understand why people are cautious
I personally prefer to recommend where people can get them or who they can contact rather than sending anything myself, at least outside my own country.

Ug this is a curse for me , but probably a blessing for others that like stones
I normally keep it small one or two trays at a time just as a hobby but my latest ATL#7 grow has turned out to be all stones
I did get 2 g of fruit but then it stopped and nothing I can do will make it produce fruits again. Does anybody have any thoughts?
Since I normally don’t do anything with stones, I’m not sure what if anything I can do
Good news is I have lots of agar to make new trays with

Try to recase the tray but I'd start with those newer plates. They look great from here! Cloning the best looking fruit also has helped me with getting the ATL#7's to fruit nicely and with a canopy

Wanted to share a plate of a new locality of Ps. Mexicana. It'll be called Ps. Mexicana Michoacán. I had a wild spore print collected by a friend in Mexico since 2023 and finally got to it about 2 weeks ago. I threw it on water agar first then transferred to YMEA and is looking great!

Nice growth on those plates. If I may ask, what’s your agar recipe?

The falling over fruits reminds me of Tamps, get heavy and just plop over, they definitely don't stick to the sub/casing like Pans that's for sure.

Do you dehydrate the potatoes? Like you make your own instant potatoes?

No, they are the instant potatoes just as cheap as you can find

Got a shoebox of ATL7 that was S2B (100% field capacity coir at ~3:1) and should be ready for casing in a few days. Trying to get fruits, never have with sclerotia producers before. No stones in spawn, spawned as soon as I was confident it was 100% colonized.

I plan on using organic jiffy seed starter mix to case, hydrate to field capacity,  pasteurize, lightly mist surface, then lay on like 1/4 inch.

I hear they like FAE more than cubes, so I have one side of the lid slightly lifted by the latch, offering a barely perceptible crack for extra GE. The surface still has tiny beads of moisture, can see where near the lifted side of the lid, small areas of condensation have evaporated over a few days, but mostly looks like a sauna.

How are my chances of getting some fruits looking following this plan?

Any advice?

Everything sounds great, but they like it wet, I can't stress that enough with these, as soon as I drenched the casing and air to counter wetness for evap, much happier fruits in a tub. You need air, don't get me wrong, but they love it almost soggy it's different than most are used to.  I did pan tubs this way (most would never soak the casing like Tamps for Pans), otherwise I won't get the fruit size and development I'm looking for in this dry environment this time of year.
