Looks good to me.

The thick veins usually mean it’s switching to fruiting and it looks like some stones are starting to form

Thanks!

In just 12 days and without finishing colonizing the jar? Wow.

So,do people let the stones grow for a couple of months and then send the remaining grain to coir to get fruits?

I hate stones so i mix all of it up, stones help mushroom clusters grow and give the mycelium an extra boost when it starts to fruit

Can any stone producers survive colder temps? Like 45 or 50?

Survive 45° yes of course I keep plates for long-term storage in the fridge and that’s probably 35°
I’m sure you can probably freeze them also but I certainly doubt they would grow at that temperature

I need some help in planning what.to do with this tamp jar inoculated onnmay 29th.

It's almost fully colonized (there's a stubborn spot less than 1/4 in diameter but I  refuse to believe it's contamination).

I am going on holiday in 7-8 weeks for like three weeks. I'd like to get some fruits and then the stones but I I wonder if I can do that before going on holidays.

I've read that people leave the jars for months, so that could be an option (wait til late August) but the jar shows signs of metabolites or bacteria (who knows right ?)

Temps are already tropical here (it's 22:00 and almost 30°C/85°F) so I don't know whats best: spawn to a shoebox (cube jars with t
with that droplets fruit) or leave the jar and try later. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm
That jar looks off to me. It does not look like how it should as I think it has bacterial contamination in with everything that’s going on.
This mycelium is so strong that a can grow with all different kinds of contamination. You can try it in 100%. Coir
But if I was you, I would just try to get a better looking substrate
This is what old mycelium looks like when it has turned into stones in the early stages. It’s just straight white.

Yeah it does not look anything like it 🥲 . The proportion would be 1:3? And do tamps stand high temps?

I normally do a ratio of 1 to 3
Keep them super wet, but make sure you have good drainage and whatever they’re in to avoid standing or pooling water
I grow mine at 80°. They can  grow as low as 70.

At a truffle ceremony I asked if I could get a small truffle to take home so I could clone it and grow truffles myself. I think it is ATL#7. I cloned it, and I used the final plate (T1) to inoculate 8 rye jars. 22 days later this is what they all look like. They kind of stalled.

- The agar plate was very beautiful and I’m pretty certain it was clean. It colonised at normal speed.
- The jars are stored at around 70f/21c.
- I’m using unmodded lids.
- Break & shake after 5 days.
- The rye was boiled with coffee added to the water.

What is most likely the problem? Too dry? Senescence? It doesn’t like coffee? Something else?

I really hope I can get this culture to work because of sentimental value. I do have another Agar plate so I can retry if necessary.

Hey guys. Just need some guidance here. This was my first attempt at doing LC, this was injected with a lc i made from an agar slice of P. tampanensis

I knocked up like 8 bags, and this is the only one that I can see visible stones in. Kind of off colored, but I don't think it's too bacterial

Should I leave this be until more stones form on the outside? Or should I harvest now and spawn the rest into into a bin?

Spawned a jar of a tamps. It had starting pinning in the jar in less than a month… hopefully it’s not trying to outrun anything. Smelled great. I love the smell of section Mexicana.

I spawned the jar to what turned out to be 1:2.25 ish ratio. I used a new brand of coir, messed the proprtions and instead of ending up with 2.5 liters, I got less than 2 and way over field capacity.

Used a new 5 quart container too, ezdialed for the lulz.

The spawn smelled like truffles a little bit  so maybe I'll still get something out of this. If it colonizes the cour I'll throw some vermiculite and try to fruit it.

Tampanensis plin!
It was just in my regular plates too, I've other Tampanensis cuts in the "plin farm" looking like they're growing stones.
:dealwithwhat:

Also just done a b&s on 3 jars of Tamp popcorn, looking healthy.

The plan is to spawn the jars them to a deep unmodded tub, leave a few months, harvest the stones and then split the grow into 2 equal ez dials & in conditions for fruits.

Any input on that plan?

I've only grown Tampanensis stones once before ended up crying @ the amount of emotional downloads I was getting from Paddington 2, nice trip to the truffle.
Fuckin excellent movie as well.
Looking forward to trying the fruits.

I think this looks like it's properly colonizing the coir

But this looks like mold

The white spot was there from the beginning I thought it could be a random grain, but now it think it's mold, or at least the gray parts. If so, what'd be my best bet? Remove the pseudocasing and cover with verm? Put a little bit of peroxide or salt in the grayish areas?

I have a fully colonized jar of Mexicana Jalisco that was inoculated into a jar of oats from agar on 3/4.  It fully colonized relatively quickly but does not appear to be forming sclerotia.  Now it looks like it's starting to dry out - how long should I wait for sclerotia before doing something else with it?  Is it possible to top fruit these?

Jar of tamps was spawned on May 28. Substrate is coir with straw, pasteurized. Today i found it pinned at day 9.
