Mushroom stones

I just saw a kick ass pick of what was called a mushroom stone.....I have never heard of this so i was wondering if anyone had any sites or ideas to enlighten me. I am really interested. thanks.... :confused:

I think what you talking about are Philosophers stones (Psilocybe tampanensis) although there are other strains which produce sclerotia.

The Psilocybe tampanensis is a special kind of mushroom. She?s only been found twice in nature. All the available cultures, originate from one specimen, which was cloned in 1977 by mycologist Dr. Steven Hayden Pollock (God rest his soul).
This particular mushroom was found in Tampa, Florida, hence the name: tampanensis. This strain is capable of producing, besides mushrooms, so-called sclerotia. They are also known as stones or truffles. These are tough structures, made by the mycelium (the fungus), for protection against dangers like floods and forest fires.

Does anyone know how to grow one of these or maybe a link to a site that would be helpful. There is a pic of one at the link posted by Anno it looks kick ass and I would love get my hands on one of those. Thanks. :confused:
