You definitely have baby stones going on, looks like Oats, many cycles on Oats (dirty AF in my area lately (milo too filthy), so I went back to WBS) with coffee in the soak water, easier than WBS too cleaning your sclerotia. Congrats, cya in 2-4 months jars... you are freerollin'

Mushluv, I have some 6 qt tubs I want to put them in. How did you get them all the moisture and FAE were you using a tent? I have a fogger and small adjustable computer fan, but have never used it, but could put the shoe boxes in a big modded tub with fogger/fan 5 min once an hour? Idk I need to just find someone successful and follow their tek. Thanks for the info!!!

Thanks folks. All three jars are now exploding in baby stones, which might give more than I was expecting (assuming all or most of them develop).

If I wanted to spawn one to a tub, could that be done before the point you usually harvest stones? Might still be a bit before I do since I'm juggling other tubs atm, but it'd be good reference for later.

For sure you can. I have spawned anywhere from full colonization up to six months later and gotten fruits. If you leave the stones in with the spawn they generally get bigger in substrate. If you pluck most of the biggest ones, you may still find plenty of stones after a flush or three. Which jars will be stoney and which will be better fruiters still seems to be part genetic and part fruiting conditions, though.

Perhaps I'll take some plins to compare their fruit performance, given how much these jars seem to love their stones.

do any of yall have cultures that produce this orange-ey cap like these do in the wild?
that are pretty dang potent? i can usually feel like 3 or 4 of them fresh pretty strong

some little pinny boys

i may be able to get some prints of these if theres a T.C who is confident and generous enough to maybe get these going and spread the love!
i have no idea what manner of stones they produce or if they even do, but since theyve been coming back over a few years now theres likely some kind of sclerotia right?

Some outdoor tamps. Six, what you have are intriguing, almost look more like mexicana than tampanensis.

I had decent success using a mini mono figuring out Tamps, they like really wet and good air (depending on the stage of the fruits, I would open the holes all the way on top), which you will have to dial in for your specific environment.  Most of the good trays were grown in a tent, much easier, but if you have time to mist at least twice a day, can be done in a tub. I know nothing of foggers and tubs, no experience first-hand.  I do however run 6 and 12 qt tubs, I would leave it alone until pinning, plenty of air from lid at this stage, or if you have higher ambient RH, I like to pop the latch so the lid just sits on top for a little added air.  Once you see pinning happening, more than just 1 and knots happening, flip the lid for a day or two let the fruits grow a bit, and offset the lid for more air to develop the caps.

You can spawn at full colonization (tiny stones no issues) like usual, or grow sclerotia out and spawn, it just doesn't matter, hell... you might even run across a mass growing through your casing and wonder WT...  All good this happens too.  Fun ONE to play with... Absolutely!

First try at p mexicana has been a success! Got more jars for stones going now too, gonna dose on that stone and some of these fruits sometime later. Will the substrate have another other stones when I harvest it?

One of the pims have a pin growing on top of it lol

2nd flush looking better than 1st

Now, that isn't too difficult since I only got 1.4g dry from the first 🥲

Also, I'm noticing that y'all tend to use trays instead of tubs, is that better for sclerotia?

Now is the time to develop those caps, flip the lid, offset it, do what you have to get more air and caps will give you spores, you can syringe water if you are scared to mist (I use a 60ml syringe with a blunt tip, but most of the time it's fine mist spray).  NO direct misting, let it float in the air like a fog rolling in.  Tamps and Mexi's enjoy WET conditions with air to evaporate that moisture. I also found that stones in the sub are hit and miss, good to great fruiting conditions you will get so many fruits and minimal sclerotia, I'm sure genetics playing a factor as well.  Eat that stone (zesty, way easier than dry fruits), .8-1g is micro dosage material.  I went as high as 1.2 and felt a touch of body high (I am in the 200lb range), then went away rather quickly.

You can see I started figuring them out without being in my indoor GH.  Granted, these were supposed to be Pans I was working with, figured out real quick they aren't so I had to change my grow strategy.  Yup, a rollercoaster back in 21 gambling on genetics being in a rough state to get fun guy material.  Ahwell, turned that frown, upside down and learned a different mushroom.  POOR me!  Keep em' coming, wonderful pics, my prints are too old and trash, I may have to start over.  All good, getting my feet wet again from a walkabout.  Be Well and Take Care

Absolutely, I have an outdoor Ps Cyan bed, and they are the same, wet conditions and open air, equals one of my favorite woodie mushrooms... wavy caps in the valley.

These fruits were yellow and close to aborting, before I realized they were out there and high winds were going to wipe them out.  You can see the caps took a hit, but came right back to orange really quick with a soaking.

Anyway, wrong thread, but yes, I like syringe watering too if doing high air mini mono with tamps or mexi A, especially if you are at that stage of early cap development, can get some green goblins (if you blast too close, try to spray the stipes or sub), tamps like wet feet, not caps early on.  In a Martha indoor GH, easy to keep them moist and won't abort with the abundance of air (3 disc in a tote and the fan stays on 24/7 and trickles fresh air constantly when the humidifier is off).  Dammit, now I have Martha on the mind, new one in the box I bought on sale, just waiting on me.  Been a few years in the tent, ready to get back at it, yawl take ER' easy.

I'm gonna try this

The ziploc bag is too small, so there are small openings on the short sides, and I have punctures the bag too.

The one I posted were grown in kind of ziplock but with huge gaps on the sides, but there was additional little humidifier in jar and tray was completely flooded at the end
