In vitro Jack Frost. Once the sub shrinks a bit I may try to birth the jar and stick it in the fruiting chamber. Idk maybe I'll wait until after one more flush.

I've always thought these were pretty. So the gills will turn blue, that's when it's mature? And it's sporeless?

GT - maybe a couple of hours or 1 day to harvest? the steams are are small but thick. This need more FAE? I leave the lid of shoebox a litle open (1cm or some). And why the grow so disorded!? 😁

Nice grow, mobyhat!! They’re doing great! Wait for all (or nearly all) of ‘em to fully open - no need to rush. If any start dropping spores, just cut the caps off and maybe make some spore prints while you wait for the rest to get to full size/open.

Congrats! Peace to you, friend!

So beautiful!

As far as I know they are not entirely sporeless. At least swabs are possible.

Blue gills are somewhat condition dependent.. but they would indicate maturity or just beyond. There's likely spores but they are clear and it's usually best to collect them with swabs. It's probably best to do this before gills turn blue. If they do.
You can also try for foil prints but albinism is a heavy mutation which usually affects spore production negatively. This makes them difficult to see on foil. You may have to use a light and look from various angles to verify.
I'm not highly familiar with that variety but with my old Falbino indicators of maturity were when the veil completely breaks away from the cap and upturning of the margins. Your big one is very close to dislodging the veil and the cap is upturning so I would say it's getting close.

Old tax pic..

I remember that Falbino dropped a fairly visible print back in the day, but it was still very light compared to most non mutated strains.

Like others have said, it tends to be a sign of over mature. I honestly think the blue hits it from a failed spore dumb.

The tops of mine will set slightly blue, the caps will overly curl and then the blue streaks are showing.

I love albinos!! My favorite grows!

Just swab em. I’ll take 10 of any albino grow and ziplock em and seal them in groups of two. When you swab em the swab will change color.

Skip the foil. I keep reading conflicting things on it and swabs are the only real guaranteed way to get them it seems.

Yours actually look sporeless. I have doubts they are clear due to the pigment of the caps and gills.. but stranger things have happened

Yeah foil is definitely harder. There's an old trick where you can smash the cap into it and literally stamp them onto it lol. But swabs are really the ticket. Even stamped prints are hard to get off the foil.

Touch O Vert. Probably not a good idea to clone anything from that particular grow. I am however reminded of the carrot commercial.

Lol. I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with that before. Should I toss it? I have another shoebox going and I’d hate to spread anything.

Nah. They are fine to consume. The stress might even make them a little stronger than usual, but no promises there. It's not an air born contaminate so it was either in your culture or more likely introduced into the sub or casing layer by hands or tools. It happens to us all.

Edit: shit, I’m in the wrong thread. I’ll stop my QQs. Lol.

So that taken into account is it worthless to even swab them?

I think spores are sticky.  So running a finger under the gills might give an idea if they're present, even if they're clear.
