I know the condensation sucks but TTBVI streak plates I wasn’t paying attention to. Took off quicker than I expected.

I’ll get better pics when I transfer tomorrow.

I, too, am envious of your vertical display wall, beef, but sadly I lack the appropriate space for such a thing

That said, aiming the IR space heater at the plates while they cool in front of the hood really has seemed to work perfectly. Not a free solution, but not a particularly spendy one either.

I'm listening about the vertical plate storage! Someone posted on here (I can't remember who I'm sorry) their lab and they had those cool hanging things for putting socks and underwear in. Or classrooms use them for cellphones. Anyways... I just got one for my master plates. I don't usually have condensation issues much but that's a great way to easily store them vertically.

I also have heard before that mold will grow in a specific direction. I've always wanted to test this personally, and now I can.

Even if you don't have a cool storage rack, the moisture will clear up over time at normal room temps.

You can see newer stacks in the back with some condensation around the edges, while the one I'm holding has sat for a couple of weeks and is completely clear of moisture. Making your blanks well in advance means you're always ready to rock out witchya cock out.:pipesmoke2:

Nothing wrong with condensation.  It can and should be resorbed into the medium.  I go ahead and use the plates with condensate, and it clears up.  More humidity is good®.

Well. I've had plates with condensation sitting in front of my hood for two days, and then unwrapped in a drawer for a week. It doesn't reabsorb for me. *shrug*

Depends on how dense you have mixed your MEA. (And -if- you've used LME or MEA) If you use a higher concentration sure, it won't resorb. (scientific term®) This will also slow myc spread as it has plenty of nutes where it is, and will cause it to tower.  I use 1% MEA with peptides and have been very successful with staving off contam, and IDing diff myc characteristics to select from.  Sometimes condensate takes a week to resorb but Idc.  Moisture is good®.

Oh, there is lots of pushback, but I am the radical here and do not always hew to the prevailing orthodoxy, so get brickbats instead of thanks for advancing the science and art.  Not important.  I introduced composted poo in coir sub, unacknowledged.  And brought cabining to the fore -- was accused of being an AI 'bot for that one, lol.  I brought UV-C to murder nasties in the air, and got dogpiled like Biden at a Trump rally.  Lord, they know not what they do.  I brought the Harvest Right, which preserves most alkyloids and the quality of a fresh mush trip, as opposed to heat methods which destroys them -- again dogpiled like I had insulted someone's mother.

It is just human nature to not accept new ideas, even when you are helping. They do. They don't.  But I notice that many have adopted the above variously around.

sounds counter productive but have u tried pouring them kinda hot? i usually pour mine to where its almost not bearable to hold the bottle. then i leave them stacked and unwrapped in front of the hood. i usually have an inch or two left in the media bottle and put it on top the stack. seems to clear up completely for me. maybe i light condo on a couple plates

I wait until it cools to 50* then pour.  Never had contam nor chunks since, with the methods I use. (above)

So now I see that, I 'do not play nice'.  Well that is a shame.

OK, DUCK!!

When you get pushback from a very experienced community it means something.

Mush-cult makes people feel like mad scientists, so the inclination is to allow  shower thoughts to run wild with "hypotheses" concerning cult practices, which ultimately leads to "experimentation"

"Experiment" often translates to: Ignoring sterile techniques, adopting less than ideal habits/equipment, refusing to learn why and how things work. Learn the why and how before tinkering with the variables, because adopting the "shooting spores into an Uncle Ben's as an experiment" attitude doesn't make you a free thinking trailblazer of scientific discovery, it makes you a noob.

You're not the first "maverick" round these parts, breh. Trust me.

Correct, I am not the first maverick. (rofl too)

But, is the experienced community always, implicitly...  Right?

In any case, it is counterproductive to the culture and toxic to a community to attack the outliers in any forum.  It is the wrongest, wrongest response, if we are thinking in an absolute, factual sense. (as opposed to, emotional)

This isn't my first rodeo with gaslighting noobs. I'm not attacking you, simply pointing out inconsistencies. Trying to turn the table of constructive criticism into ad hom is not a simple matter of semantic curiosity, it's the calling card of folks who appear to be incapable of the  abstract thought they claim to represent.

So just chill, you do you and post results, but don't try me like that. My hill is littered with noob skeletons.
