Talk to me like a stupid child about prints and inoc loops cause the search function isn’t drawn out with enough crayons my feeble brain can understand.

When scrapping the print with the inoc loop,

1) you scrap it hard enough to get spores off

Or

2) just enough force to feel it crap the foil. Don’t worry. They are on there.

Then when I go to agar

1) put a drop of water on the loop to help with spreading the plate and germination hydration

Or

2) just zig zag it bro. You’re over thinking it

Cool your loop in the agar and just touch the print.
Just swipe it

I just flame sterilize my scalpel blade, let it cool then just scrape some spores off the print onto the plate. Hasn't failed me yet, but i have only been doing this a year.

I heat my loop until it's red hot, then cool it by stabbing it into my receiving plate. This leaves a micro film of agar. I then scrape the print so some is removed from the foil and zip zag it across the receiver plate. I don't add water. If a print is stubborn and doesn't want to grow, I try again using soft agar (8g agar/500ml instead of 10g).

I flame the loop, cool the loop in the agar at the edge of the plate and scrap the print. Little bit of agar on the loop helps the spores to adhere.

Hey Tryp have you ever had any issues with a print going funky doing that? I have always been afraid of agar staying on the print and introducing a contamination vector. I may be just over cautious but wanted to ask someone that has done it a lot before.

Older prints will stick fast.  You can shorten your loop by sliding it in its fastening tape.

And I've found through hard experience that agar mix really matters.  I now use 1% MEA and it really works. (1g agar per 100mL distilled water, then PC the mix)  For poo-loving strains (pans) you'll want an agar with a nitrogen source, and that won't hurt other strains.

Flame red-hot, cool in agar, and scrape that print in a -smaller- area until some comes loose.  When scraping a print I put it on another dish since I have a wire rack in my SAB.  I 'S' innoc a quarter of the plate without digging in to the agar.

I do a small portion of the print at a time to reduce chances of contam, to limit the genetics I am picking up so I have a choice when they germinate, and to have some for later.  My preference is fuzzy myc, over rhizo -- remains to be seen whether I am way off base.  I don't know whether getting spores from inside or outside the print matters -- suspect inside may be better.

Do all innoc in a SAB as there are germs in the air all the time, even inside.  I hold my print vertical to work with, then cover the print.  I crack open my plate holding vertical, innoc a quarter-side, then close with my thumb.  I have a roll of cling-wrap cut to the width of a plate, and wrap innoced plates twice.

My (ferocious) MiB print was very light, so after I'd scraped all I could, on the next plate I just mashed the print into it.  That was the end of it but I got a bouquet of choices.

After innoc be patient.  It will take too long to germinate, maybe 7-10 days.

I assume it could, I tend to only open a print once.

Would it be possible to dehydrate lemon tek into a powder? It seems excessive I know since doing lemon tek is quick and easy but I’m just curious.
If you could get all the benefits of lemon tek, in capsule form and could take it whenever you wanted.
I’m guessing the sugars in the lemon would make dehydration into a powder impossible?

Yes you can make a lemon tea and then dehydrate the tea in your dehydrator.

ReverendMyc has tested tea dehydration fairly extensively for gummy use and he claims great success.

I'll be trying it myself soon

Thanks everyone! Got a lot of the answers I wanted.

I’ve had better results with swabs at this point where I was feed up with the loop. Like every time I’ve used the loop I get nothing and I would heavily scrape the print to where transferring of it was like precision surgery.

Oh yea that’s right. He makes the active tea.

But I don’t think he uses lemons and just boils the shrooms in water. I’m worried about the sugars in the lemon getting too sticky and not dehydrating properly into a powder.

Would be cool if you did a side by side of option 1 and option 2.

Do you just want to use lemon?
Lemon juice will dehydrate just fine.
