i dont know but these "recipes" have ruined more tubs of mine than anything.

every brick weighs out different.
vermiculite is worthless unless you accidentally add too much water and need to add it.
gypsum is completely unneccesary.

brick weight x 4.25-4.4 = water weight in ml.


After trying with and without verm i honestly prefer the texture and consistency with the verm added. The sub holds a bunch of water but isnt as... hmmmmm.... heavy and dense feeling, i guess i could say.

Best i can describe it.

Definitely don't need the gypsum.

Definitely don't just follow a recipe and run with it if it seems too wet or dry. The shit ain't etched in stone and not like if you don't follow it to the letter not only will your mushrooms not grow but, you'll stub your toe on the way to bathroom too. So, be flexible with your prep.

So, not hating on those who choose to skip the verm, just adding my two bits that nobody asked for :lol:

Mix dry malt extract and agar at 1:1 ratio.

40g of mix to 1 liter of water. Sterilze for 30 min.

If i get shitty genetic, can i spore print a shroom and maybe have it improve the next time i grow from that new print ?

Also, do genetic "degrades" over time ? Example : flush A, take a print. Grow from it, flush B, take a print. Grow grom it, flush C, take a print. Etc.
Would at one point the genetic of the shrooms "degrades" the more you grow from the same huhu, family ? (Is there a word for it ?)

mines been leaking since like 2018...


so i can ignore it then, since the leak is small, it like 2-3 drops a cycle

My first grow is going great! With a gloved hand, I took the one cake out of it's quart container jail cell then added it to the main tub. I was being paranoid about the suspected contam. It's ok. I needed to get it out of that container because it was getting crowded fast!





The 2nd set of cakes I have colonizing are looking good. The grain jars I knocked up this past weekend are showing some action as well. The agar plates are not doing anything noticeable yet.

Roughly how long does it take for LC myc to show up on an MEA plate?

Here is mine.
PC media bottle as per usual.
Set it to 50c place a jar in and wait for the temperature gauge to drop back to 50c.
Perfect pours.

Or use these:

covered in foil in the IP. (EDIT: forgot to say set it to Keep Warm Low after the PC cycle and wait.)

or no pour primo plates. Sometimes I pour these like regular plates, too.

Depends on my mood. So many ways to pluck a donkey.

The lids are adaptable so you can have a really small opening all the way up to a really large opening. So a media bottle can fit and the top of it can stick out.

You can find good deals for them on ebay. Just pay attention to shipping.

They also have double and triple chamber ones.



And follow exactly what rev says cuz I get all my info on this stuff from him. So I do exactly as he does. including the silicone pouring pitchers and no pour primos.

Did you pee blood?


I knew one guy that peed blood but he was doing way more than a gram a day. Then there was that guy on the vice channel episode that was injecting ridiculous amounts multiple times a day. I thought my friends and I were doing ridiculous amounts but that guy was on a whole different level.

I used to get an oz at a time and would go through it in 3-4 weeks. Never had any issues peeing blood.

That's a 250 ml bottle. And yes only one It would fit the 500ml as well. And pretty sure the 1000ml They would just stick out the top each a lil more than the other. So I'm not sure how much of each of those higher volumes actually would sit under the water. But most likely a good amount of it would. I don't have bigger bottles to try out to tell you for sure. But I do have short wide silicone pitchers that hold between 500 and 1,000 ml that do fit in it. So it just depends on the container you're using but pretty much all of your needs can be taken care of with them even though it's pretty small and compact.

I saw above Roscoe posted one as well. It's definitely bigger than the one I have.at least length×width. But I'm not sure how deep it is. Definitely a few good options to look at though.


So if you wanted more than one bottle  you'd have to look into one like Roscoe posted or like I posted but that has  the double or a triple chamber.


The digital with timer soux vide option is also a great one. You could get a cheap one off of Amazon. 30$-60$ and basically hook it up to any size container you want and easily create a controlled water bath that can hold many media bottles of any size.

They've actually got a few good uses in this hobby. Like pasteurization baths. Can use them to temper chocolate. Cool or keep warm media etc.....

And if you happen to like to cook. that's also a great addition to have in Your Arsenal. So that's a plus one
