😂 I meant for consumption, I can’t easily access wheat or rye, May try brown rice though if millet doesn’t work as well.

The pedestrian crossing warnings on the Australian streets point out that visitors should look the opposite way to see if Mad Max is hurrying to Dan Murphy’s.
I loved Dan Murphy’s. It was like the liquor stores in Canada except the Australian kids all had mullets and none of them had shoes.
Back to mycelium grains…..

I’m still waiting for the award committee to take the tag back.

I had some strange green spiderweb slime mold start growing in one corner of the tub, so I cut it out. It seriously looked a green Hexxus from Ferngully was sucking on my shrooms. I wish I remembered to get a picture but I wanted it out ASAP and didn't think of it. I took way more then where it was but the tub seems to be ok now. I think it's from using unpasteurized jiffy casing. They probably could use more fae but I don't want them to dry out too much either.

I asked rev this question last week. My concern was the flavor profile going into gummies. He pointed me towards white quinoa. If you’re not concerned about flavor I would think any grain that works well with cubes should work well.

I hadn’t considered flour or grain for gummies, I was just going to cap them, I’d assume you’re just boiling/simmering the whole grains? Would the starches make them even gummier?
And thanks for the suggestion (: I just prepped some whole brown rice so will let all know how that goes and I also managed to find some organic whole wheat online that didn’t break the bank and should be clean enough to use 👍 here’s hoping cos I sure af can’t seem to get these things to fruit :/

I believe that according to the conventional wisdom, hoogshagenii is a species, and semperviva/hvc/subtropicalis is a species properly named subtropicalis. Hoogshagenii belongs to the section mexicanae, and subtropicalis belongs to the section Zapotecorum.
I must say that I have corrected the name in my books several times and got a little confused about the pedigree. But I know for sure that the real hogshagenia is considered very difficult to grow as a mushroom, which is in stark contrast to what we grow.

What part of that is incorrect? Saying, “You’re wrong,” without explaining why or how is not helpful. Doing so on old posts could be considered trolling.

I've already written enough
Think for yourself
What does this have to do with other types of mushrooms?
Mexican and zapotecorum?
We are talking about a specific type of mushroom and its varieties.

Chirpee Choozle gave you the taxonomy and explained the grouping of hoogs and semp/subtrop which is Mexicanae and Zapotacorum.

You don't seem to understand the taxonomy of these mushrooms hence not understanding the sections they fall into.

I've never noticed a flavor issue when making gummies from wheat but I don't use the flour and only use the tea.
