By popular demand, this is a place for our mycopets.  The pets that like to sleep in sabs, sit on tubs, aren't afraid of the sound of an ffu.  Them kitties that like to watch us work.  Dogs that like to eat agar.  Horses who make free substrate.  show me what you got. I dont wanna hear any dogs are better than cats or visa versa bullshit or Ill call Stipe and Mushy in here with with a couple of wiffle-ball bats to regulate.

Ill start us off with my 19lb bb.  Real name protected but you can call him king loof if you want.  For those of you who have met him, no, he hasnt lost any weight despite getting him that fancy ass japanese automated feeder and restricting his diet.  vet says hes just a stout boyo.  He wouldnt fit through a sab hole but he sure loves to sleep on tubs.

I'll start with one of my pups (got a couple and some cats), he's a toy austrailian shepherd. We'll call him Chang Mang, one of his nicknames the beautiful Mrs. Hermes comes up with. Hes a bit of a 15lb terror, but still listens well. He definitely loves to chew on tubs, jars and anything else he isn't supposed to if he can get to it, but once something is offered to him he then doesn't want it anymore. Overall he's a good lil guy, but too smart for his own good.

Just gonna go ahead and stick this here.

This girls just 10mo old. She goes by hey hey, Hazel Basel, miss Kitty. The list goes on. She loves messing with my stuff and causing a ruckus. She’s also broken into my canna tent several times and eaten my lower fan leaves. Naughty girl.

Here’s my lil weirdo. Lover of boxes and eating the half smoked weed bowls I dump out into an ashtray and forget about until I see her nose all covered in ash. I really need to start putting it in a drawerπŸ˜…

We got an aging diva, too smart for her own good, and too good for the litter box.

She even crept on me everyday at my old job, made walking in in winter better. Too bad the place is demolished now and no longer she peeks.

And we got the young buck, thinks he runs the block, serial killer in the making, leaving crime scenes and beheadings of small animals in his wake. There is truly nothing more terrifying than seeing severed rabbit heads eyes agape first thing in the morning on the back steps…

Thanks man.
She’s is an amazing dog for sure.
Definitely the smartest and most loyal dog I’ve ever had in my life.
She’s super athletic as well.
She opens doors, my fence gate, or whatever she wants.
I knew from the first day we got her, that she was a special dog.
My kids named her Dot because she has a perfect round black spot on the back.

As promised, here's another one of my pets. This is Baby the toy panther. She is a 7lb absolute savage, must have been a panther in her last incarnation. She was born at my house from one of the stray cats we brought in about 2 years ago.

Squirrels are fun. My daughter had a squirrel for a long time. She would let it out in the morning, then call for it to come back at night. She let it out one morning and an opportunistic hawk was waiting. Sad day.

Here's the Chunk Munk. He is my oldest, chillest current pet. Saw a beautiful all white kitten with one green and one blue eye that was friendly in my yard yesterday, probably gonna adopt it. Was kinda skinny and didn't get along with the other strays, but loved pets and chomped down food real quick so she would probably do better indoors.

This is a PSA, because I care:
Sorry to be a cat scrooge, but are y'all familiar with the brain parasite from cats?

"In rodents, T. gondii alters behavior in ways that increase the rodents' chances of being preyed upon by felids.[7][8][9] Support for this "manipulation hypothesis" stems from studies showing that T. gondii-infected rats have a decreased aversion to cat urine while infection in mice lowers general anxiety, increases explorative behaviors and increases a loss of aversion to predators in general.[7][10] Because cats are one of the only hosts within which T. gondii can sexually reproduce, such behavioral manipulations are thought to be evolutionary adaptations that increase the parasite's reproductive success since rodents that do not avoid cat habitations will more likely become cat prey.[7] The primary mechanisms of T. gondii–induced behavioral changes in rodents occur through epigenetic remodeling in neurons that govern the relevant behaviors (e.g. hypomethylation of arginine vasopressin-related genes in the medial amygdala, which greatly decrease predator aversion).[11][12]

In humans, particularly infants and those with weakened immunity, T. gondii infection is generally asymptomatic but may lead to a serious case of toxoplasmosis.[13][4] T. gondii can initially cause mild, flu-like symptoms in the first few weeks following exposure, but otherwise, healthy human adults are asymptomatic.[14][13][4] This asymptomatic state of infection is referred to as a latent infection, and it has been associated with numerous subtle behavioral, psychiatric, and personality alterations in humans.[14][15][16] Behavioral changes observed between infected and non-infected humans include a decreased aversion to cat urine (but with divergent trajectories by gender) and an increased risk of schizophrenia."

I have also heard that there’s been a lot of cases of finding the parasite while doing autopsies on people that died doing high risk activities like reckless motorcycle driving and extreme sports. Pointing to the possibility that it may affect the fear centers in our brains too.

Read that along time ago tho. Not sure how accurate it is

Yes and we feed on the issue.  That's why the Irish wild cat is now an endangered species us bring Africa cats and that parasite to them.

My condolences Mushboy. Nothing is harder than losing a loved one. I know trying to keep in mind you keeping their quality of life in mind is hard but it is the most compassionate thing you do as a life partner. I like to think they will all be waiting for me on the other side of whatever side that may be

My thoughts are with you

Seems the bigger they are the more they want to be a lapdog. My newfoundland/poodle is 85 pounds and eye level with my 6 ft self on his hind legs but everytime I get in my recliner he's gotta get up there with me
