Can you………”break and shake” a bulk substrate or nah?

Can’t decide if I should do that with the two tubs I added the top much casing too or just wait and see and trash if need be.

I’m sure they are learning soon to the dry side not yet I see some water droplets your doing damn good man ! Idk I’ve had a couple grows where the caps did that either way they are fine to eat !

Keep steady you’ve done amazing ! Watch the little guys that dnt seem to grow if they turn and abort you’ll need to get them out to get the bang out of your buck get coco coir in place of verm

Every cult is a little different sometimes you’ll get a big ass pin set with 50 pins but they stop growing and only a few mature overall looks amazing though I’m pleased

I've experienced something similar, once.
Deduced that to be caused by iso in the air, as I've only once, ever, been heavy on the iso in open air, where any grow has been exposed.
May be due to other chemicals as well.
If you'd be using a tent and a ultrasonic fogger I'd say mineral buildup, though.

However, it may as well be because of them drying out, but I haven't experienced that happening to dryness myself, yet.

It's called rosecomb, and it can look all different ways. Commonly said to be caused by hydrocarbon fumes, I've had it happen when there were none.

It's safe to eat, and spores from it will make normal mushrooms.

Late night update. I'm away on a work trip until tomorrow, so my wife has been sending me the pics and taking care of them while I've been out. They're getting huge. I may reach out to a friend of a friend who happens to be fairly well known mushroom guy to see if he's ever seen clusters like this.

Ive seen one/two mushrooms grow off of one, but not a dozen.

They are growing BUT they’re lacking prob fresh air and water lol or light

Thank you all! Today a few of the caps are dripping and there are some water droplets on the stems. This is only on a few fruits, not all, and there's no surface moisture droplets on the cakes that I can see. I've increased FAE, but do I need to do anything else at this point?

I've never done PF Tek, someone who has can tell, but from a "shrooms in general" viewpoint, those look reasonable.

When you're at this point of growing most of the work is done.

Thanks, that's reassuring. Either way, it's still a good learning experience but I just don't want to lose all my effort due to something I can step in and prevent!

I feel like I may not have had enough FAE and too much moisture, leading to some bacterial issues but I am not sure. Hopefully someone more experienced with PF Cakes and water tubs can weigh in and let me know what to do with a few slimy/moist fruits. The smell in the tub is also not a fresh mushroom smell anymore, it's more "musty" than fresh now.

Might just be the stagnant water in the bottom.  You can replace it if you're careful.

Freezing expands and destroys the mycelieums cell walls. Putting the 'mush' in 'mushroom'.

Putting LC in the fridge to store it is fine but don't let it freeze.

I learned this out the hard way. Also if you are storing Lc in the back of your refrigerator make sure it’s not so cold it freezes. I lost a large batch of mazatapec that accidentally froze next to the pickes ughhh

If I test a vendor made LC on agar and it looks clean, is that a green light to expand into my own broth?

or use a wedge from the plate to expand?

I've been burned by trying to expand a vendor LC like that. Agar is the way, there could always be something hitching a ride that didn't make itself visible yet.

Ok these seem really clean, I shot like 9cc to grain already and they seem to be doing great.

I saved the last few drops and put onto 3 different plates just in case.

But yea that’s what my concern was if there might be something still in the syringe.
