Fair point.
Another study finds anti-inflammatory properties in pan cyans and cubes as well.

It looks like they got their "nats/nss" and other spores from the same source as well.

Edit: posted before your edit because I had just read the same study.

I thought I had true nats, but on further inspection, they are ochra's.  Has the color variation in the cap and I bought them as Natal super strength.  Interested to get ahold of true nat genetics and give them a grow.

I bet most of the trip reports where people say they are nats are really ochra's.  Will be interested to see what shakes out of this thread.  Can someone tell where we can get true natalensis genetics?  I am definitely game to give them a go and post results.  I'll also sample them after I grown them and give trip reports

I don't think that the vendor that I know about is a sponsor, but they are currently out of stock so it doesn't matter much at the moment.

Keep posting and you will be able to access the market place soon. Once we get some cultures running I am confident that they will be showing up in there.

That's 1 of the many things this community is good at. Sharing. I paid for my first 2 spore syringes and haven't needed to buy any since due to generous members on here. Just be sure to share every now and then as well or it kind of defeats the purpose.

Yeah, it's just going to take time for it to get out.

I know of three people who are trying to isolate fruiting genetics.  I only know of one person that has even fruited them.

So there's really not spores going around yet and as far as I know we still don't trade cultures in the marketplace I don't know

The whole culture's in the mail thing still sketches me out.

Edit:  a lot of the info I have on this species came from this podcast.

There seems to be a prevailing mentality that we're all growing ochraceonetrata which we really aren't.

I've been growing both for ages and this work Yoshi is doing just reinforces what many of us have said for the last few years.

Wild ochraceocentrata

The line is still a bit blurry.

I have already distributed these spores from an outdoor grow but well, I guess no one really cared enough when I did

Hillbilly Outlaw and a few others have them.

Hey are you treating them any different than the ochra?

I have a few grain jars colonizing.  I heard that they can make stones, so a couple of them I'm planning to let sit for a couple of months and see what they do.

But I have ones where I plan to spawn and then also an all-in-one jar with 50% compost in it.

My plan right now is to just try to fruit them like pans (because that's how my tent is dialed).  But probably with a thicker substrate.

It's always been more fae and light, if it's hot just make sure they breath or they turn into snakes.

Hpoo is seems to get them larger than coir.

Beautiful thank you!

Plenty of light, plenty of fresh air.  And yeah I like running stuff on poo   Especially considering I'm doing it most of the time anyway.

Havenโ€™t cultivated anything in almost 3 years but when I was last around I had what was called nats, so they werenโ€™t really nats? Old nats are ochrea and new nats are true nats?

I had the spaghetti kind that people would getโ€ฆdo those look like nats to yall ?or too hard to tell?

Those look like ochra to me.  The full veil very cube like, that's a dead give away.

If you look at Derrayld's post, , you can see that natelensis lacks the full veil.  It's most obvious in the top two pictures.

But they are still cousins.  So, they do share some similarities.  But ochra are more closely related to cubes, and tend to ressemble them and hybridize easily with them too.

I am definitely guilty of this thinking. I saw mention that some had the real thing, but have only seen a couple say that they have the verified genetics. Until I saw Yoshi's list of differences I didn't see how one could be sure.

I am happy to see that I was wrong and am looking forward to learning more about these and seeing them in wider distribution. Especially it they have some interesting traits.

@D, have you done a bio assay? Anything unique about the trip? Was yours a good germ and fruiter?

Great question there reverend....

the trip from ochra's is definitely different from cubes and they are more potent as well.  3.5g of ochra's hit way harder than 5g of cubes.... Part of the ride was rough too.....whew....

I'm wondering if many of the trip reports we had on "nats" were really ochra trip reports.  Mine was for sure.....but I thought they were nats....

Interested to see if the true natalensis trip is different from cubes and different from ochra's.

This is intriguing to me.  I never really thought much about it.  Though shrooms only varied in potency, but my first pans trip convinced me otherwise.  0.68g of dried TTBVI did things for me that no dose of cubes has ever done.  Really interested in trying more species to see how the character of the experience varies, not just raw potency.

Pan. Bisporus is one of my favorites.  About as strong as cyans.  But the character is very unique.

Spawned some nats yesterday morning.  Making up some casing this morning and will spawn an aio jar too once the casing cools.
