Thanks for that. And then you’re just bucket tekking your coir with the supplemented water - no further sterilisation or pasteurisation of the substrate is needed?

Are these the same products that you are referring to?

True Organic: https://trueorganic.earth/product/liquid-all-purpose-plant-food/

Jackpot: https://humagro.com/huma-gro-products/micronutrients/jackpot/

I note there is also the Calcium product from the makers of Jackpot: https://humagro.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Calcium-Product-Technical-Bulletin-HG.pdf

Also, I wonder if the resulting fruits are as high in alkaloids as manure-grown pans?

Yep, just bucket tek’ing it. And yes, those are the products. I don’t use RG anymore, my contam rate dropped significantly once I switched to TO. I can’t answer how they compare to fruits grown on manure, as I’ve only consumed pans grown this way. I’ve found the usual dosage advice to be rather accurate.

The fruits bruise up pretty well

Finally had my first success with pan cyans - TTBVI :mushroom2:

Happy with the results but this was a T2 culture and i guess i have a case of inense clustering. Misting the fruits directly didnt seem to bother them. I would like to clone some fruits for conserving a better culture. Any advice?

Im thinking its best to go for a healthy looking fruit from the middle thats not part of a cluster? Maybe try and tear open the stipe and poke it with a needle rather than scraping with a scalpel. Either way im aware that its going to be tricky compared to cloning a king oyster

Details:
I used manure pellets that i softened by pouring over boiled water in 1:1 weight ratio (had an intense case of fungus gnats after i used field aged manure on my first attempt). Then mixed with coir&verm at field capacity and pasteurized for 1 hour in a waterbath. After full colonisation i cased on 24.12 using fahster´s detailed casing instructions.

I had some BVI genes that I dicked around with for ~10 separate grows and could not get them to fruit no matter what I did. Sent the genes to another dude - same story. Now I've got some MiB from sleepydave and it sprouted within weeks while being treated pretty much like cubes (just add shit).

MS first time around:

MS second time (still ongoing, want to clone that cluster. First clone attempt resulted in all dishes contamming):

Nothing spectacular, but a massive change from a straight 0. Growing in unmodified monotubs. Besided being fast, MiB seems to be a very resilient strain.

Got some bisporus colonising grains:

which will require a better technique I guess and some old dishes waiting their turn:

If you really want to clone, BRF pucks work well.  ReverandMyc has a write up.

Generally though, Pan Cyans do better from MS.

Cool, will check for that write up. From what i read in Baba Yagas Panaeolus in monotubs Tek i thought you have to find a good culture and conserve it. I guess i will label and keep my agar dishes better next time. I guess that was the idea and not cloning a promising fruit

Thanks :chugbeer:

Yeah, baba does suggest finding a clone for fruiting in a tote.  Which can be more difficult.

But a lot of the lines we're working with have gotten used to being fruited indoors at 70f.  And I've seen some beautiful MS grows in tubs too.  Thanks to baba breaking ground there and encouraging others to try it.

The mycelium will adapt, both through genetics and epigenetics.  And the life cycle of cyans seems to be more about rapid secession of generations, rather than overwintering to make fruit next season.

In other words, they seem more prone to senescence and less tolerant of long-term storage than other species.

But, I have revived a year old ttbvi clone.  And BRF is the easiest way I find to clone them.  So if you think you have a banging culture, don't let me deter you from cloning it.  But I would also take prints.

Haven’t been having much luck this pan season filling tubs, hopefully the next few change that :/

How is the casing surface looking?

I try to keep small beads of water on it, like morning dew drops.

Essentially those small beads are what I'm evaporating off and replacing as needed.

This is bispo so it will look different than cyans, but should give you an idea.

And one more but Mystery SA.

There's definitely tiny droplets everywhere. Particularly wherever there is mycelium. I went ahead and cranked up the speed on my exhaust fan controller today. Hoping that helps get the evaporation needed.

This second flush is looking interstellar.

This wonderful little cluster in the bottom right though has me all giddy.

Like 2 mins ago I got a feeling I would see pins in my bispos, I check, and DING DING DING DING there it is!!!
A teeny tiny baby boy welcome to the world!

Checked again and theres actually at least 4 pins 🤘🤘

As you can see on the sides the soil gets dry; the two jar setup does not produce similar moisture levels to a full bath underneath the mushies. Are bispos sensitive to misting like cyans? I will have to mist em for sure but im worried 😧

Congrats!

And no, they're not sensitive to misting.  As long as you don't drown the pins and oversaturate the casing, you can spray them as much you like really.  They're usually found in grass and seem to prefer being wet.

Here's some very wet ones from my tent this morning.

There's smaller pins not visible.  They get sprayed too!

Thank you  so excited for my first trip with these. As you said about connecting to the heart center, I need it a lot.

Last flush of these cuties. As you can see I performed surgery on a triched out corner. The other tray triched out bad bad and its gone.
The trip these gave me on new years has been the best of my life hands down. From the spores of an agar pin to two petris. These are the first gen from the second petri (water agar, i guess it doesent matter). The spawn jar was contammed with PE previous to adding these.
I do not know if there has been some gene transfer with the PE because these felt greatly different to the other petri made from the same spores. I loved these way more even though it could be dose dependent also. Like I have been taken to the dmt realm on the comeup such as only PE has done for me so far on this scale
I want to clone them for sure. Ill try water agar as well as brf If I can get around finding sum. I dont even know if they produce spores :P

I hope they work well for you.  I feel I should be open about the fact that my first experience with them was very difficult.

I had internalized a lot of toxicity from my culture, and it was the beginning of the process of letting a lot of that stuff go.

But they were very direct with me.  They said this is us.  That's you.  And this darkness is not you.  Which was reassuring even though it was scary.

The resting in the heart center came after working with them a few times.  But, if you feel overwhelmed remember you can rest in your breathing and your heart center. It's our birthright.  But it may take practice, because we also get caught up in things and forget that.
