nah a lot of them were attached to clearly rotten ones. black shriveled stems and mycelium taking over the mushrooms. i use lower temps to dehydrate so i didnt want tot risk giving anyone food poisoning. not willing to take the time to wash off coir and separate rotten from good for a few extra gs. i should have harvested them first flush.

i tried making condiment cup agar last night and i ended up with a layer of water in each one. poured at about 145 f. i know thats a little hot. let cool before adding lids. glass petri dishes and plastic petri dishes turned out fine but 70% of the agar cups had water. where did i go wrong? what temp do you pour at?

Not entirely sure, I think I had unplugged the instant pot and let it cool down for 30mins or so. Was still piping hot in the bottles, but I double wrapped the neck with foil to mitigate.

But they do get a lot of condensation, but that does disappear after a few days. Make sure to keep them stacked on each other.

I pour my cups when the bottle doesn’t burn my hand anymore. Stacking them and then putting a cup with hot water on the top and then letting them sit seems to help. Is your place cold?

Temperatures in dehydrators do not damage the potency of mushrooms.  If you are capable, crank your heat all the way up to ensure a safer end product.  I dry at 165 for 24 hours and sleep well.

Fold it in half longways, that way it won’t overlap top and bottom causing plates to stick and you get a double layer seal, and if you’re having issues pealing the paper backing off just pinch a corner hard and pull, comes apart easy.
I hated it for a long time till I figured that out, grafting tape is probs the next best thing imo.

I don't know why I do this to myself, already got 2 different cubes (multiple cultures of one), a pan cyan, 2 Ps subtropicalis, 2 Ps tampanesis, Ps cyan, Ps zapotecorum, Ps not sure but it's a woodlover running.
