Turner's Slave Rebellion might be a way to show that being moral does not guarantee success.

People move if they can but nobody wants them and some cannot.  Germany did not give visas and they had planes and trains.  Even recently, people did not leave Afghanistan.  Even some that could may not see it or may guess wrong.

As awful as Jan 6 was for our republic, it was still insignificant in terms of a rebellion.  You'd need something 1000 times larger to spark anything close to national change.

individually sure overall that was a success. losing a battle isnt losing the war, in terms of war we (the anti-oppression crowd) are winning, the MTG types who would seek to silence anyone who isnt a white christian nationalists are now an obnoxious minority instead of the ruling class.

honestly the fact that trump has to cheat to win is a good sign its just annoying in the moment.

History is what it is.  You can say it was nothing and I can say it was only part of something and that something not working does not make it a small thing.  You know as well as I that is was not the only thing.

if the jan 6rs had been on the anti-oppression side of the aisle... they would have had more support and the insurrection would have succeeded... of course that hypothetical requires a WHOLE dif history.

but the oppressive class of people are dying off. and really have the majority of their representation in very wealthy people holding on to the last vestiges of easy power.

generally the direction of travel is good the progress is just slow.

even slower on the shroomery.

eventually people in modern society realize that mobility allows freedom from oppression and the idiotic authoritarians either change or get lonely as fuck ruling their little islands of unjustified pointless power all alone.

the sooner the power positions realize that the community is more valuable than the power, they either change or die from the cancer of stagnation.

That's assuming that the people know and will act in their best interests.  Neither of those are true.  The average American is stupid af.  This is why we try to elect people who are the brightest and the best.  Unfortunately, the people are stupid, so they don't know that just because someone is on reality TV doesn't mean he/she is smart.

people can be fooled into being oppressive... thats why trump has to lie about the election... no one would be on his side if he admitted he was doing all this because he didnt like losing.

Trump is yesterday's papers.  I'm not worried about him.  I'm worried about the next guy who does it better.  Trump is a buffoon, and anyone with half a brain can see that.  Someday, however, someone with rhetorical skills and brains will rise, and that could be a dangerous situation.

you can spend the rest of your life afraid your shadow will bite your ankles. but that wont help you prepare for when the invisible man pops out from under your bed and says he doesnt want to be your imaginary friend anymore.

one of your biggest flaws is that you cant seem to tell fantasy from reality.

the next wave of the attack rarely looks exactly like the one before, so you should prepare for styles of attack and not just sit there huddled under your desk waiting for the same bombs.

we have made progress. its just taken 10x the time it should have taken.

there will be backward progress. as long as we make more forward steps than negative steps eventually it will be ok if there is a world left for the grandkids to enjoy by then.
