I'm no apologist for European inperialism. The shit they were mucking around in stinks as bad as the shit we were in during the cold war. Neither the United States or Europe can be too proud of the things they've done in the past.

I dare say that whatever shit you speak of in regard to the cold war, there are currently upwards of 400 mllion people no longer living in thrall to communist dictators because we were victorious.

One may convincingly argue that the demise of the Soviet Empire was hastened by cold war expenditures but communism is always doomed to failure because it is based upon a flawed economic model. The Soviet Union collapsed from within in line with the economic predictions of Ludwig Von Mises in his 1922 book, 'Socialism.' We may ask how long American style debt financed socialism will last until it too succumbs to economic realities which can take generations for full realization.

I don't have any links to tanks squishing children. I'd like to give the Israeli military enough credit to believe the civilian casualties caused by their tanks are at least adults.

Israel acts in a very unhumane manner towards these people. I suppose if Washington DC had 8 year old kids with bomb-belts coming in from Rockville, they might do the same thing. The big problem with terrorism is that the only way to fight it is to be more oppressive, which the terrorists use to recruit more members.
