Idk what u mean by that exactly, but I'll do my best.

Thai Pink Buffalo in 90% coir, 10% worm castings, 2tbsp calcium carbonate, and the rest of my verm (~5% total volume).

The bulk substrate was a hair too wet and I have been humidifying with a 2% bleach/water solution. Some days I did go too heavy with the humidifier, but I never let water pool up.

I don't purposely fan the tub, I just lift up the lid sometimes to look :tongue2:. The tub itself is an unmodified square shoebox, and the lid is never closed.

overkill.

unless you live in the desert you really dont need one. the evaporation off the surface of the substrate builds the micro climate.

if the air is too saturated things cant really evaporate properly and youll get side pins or awful flushes ect.

That’s what I’m hearing but they hardly grew. Waited to long to harvest and they shriveled some. Got about 0.5g dry

It seems the tub just will not colonize this edge. Did I possibly tamp down too hard? Will this become an issue?

Looks fine to me. That looks like an unsual amount of water on top though. May want to give it a bit more airflow or chill on the misting.

Haven't opened the lid let alone misted. In fact I only used 3.25 quarts of water to 1 brick coir and 2 quarts verm. My tubs keep coming out wet for some reason. Very little water came out when I squeezed for field capacity.

Most of us go to "fruiting conditions" when spawning now. I just suspect it may help a bit because it will give moisture a chance to evaporate and will promote pinning.

For cubes, there is no real benefit to most additives. Plain, coir, or coir and verm do a great job and appear to have fairly good resistance to contamination as well.
Definitely ditch the humidifier and using bleach, as others have recommended and don't fan at all, if you are doing that. You can allow constant, slight, passive air
and a little light from the get go. Those and a substrate that's at, or close to proper field capacity, and your surface conditions should pretty much take care of themselves.

I thought I'm already in fruiting conditions just by having an unmodified shoebox with the lid on? Should I flip the lids?
