Mycogen or whatever got into my plates or a virus, the caps turned blue and everything rotted. A plague look like it burned through my tub.

I have to restart from spores again, sadly I won’t be trying them out any time soon.

No idea how it happened it was a first fluke for me, maybe I wiped my blade and didn’t flame??

Hands down one of my all time favorites (melmac 118 is the other that I cannot find for the life of me) I swear it gave me X-ray vision when I was fishing🎣

Lost this culture years ago after a couple moves. I was unpacking a shoebox full of random stuff earlier this week and. Found a plate that was from FEB 2020. Transfers seem to have liked it and I am excited to see what happens when it touches some grain. * fingers crossed *

hey, just wanted to get on board this thread,
a little late to the party, so here's my input/findings:

RW MS chewed aggressively through aspergillis(?)
and I spawned heavily contamed brf cakes to
straw/verm/pasturized manure/compost anywayz

veils are about to break and I wanted to ask,
is there anything else I should be looking for when
cloning/printing? other than: white flesh, rust spores and solid stipes?

I'm glad to be working with a shroomery original lol
kind'a neat :smile:

it was green and not pathogenic, mycelium grew right through/over it

So I started out with some spores a frind of mine kindly sent me. They looked tusty already. I´m not gonna post a grow log here, just some pics and a brief synopsis.
For my first attempt at Rustywhyte I would say I ended up with a decent perforing culture. It looked wispy and a little weak on agar and fluffy on grain. Here are some pics of it after spawn, a fruiting progression. Flush 1



Flush 2 is coming in and I will post pics when they become available.
Thanks Pasty for making such a cool cross, cant wait to grow more in like 1 week, I´ll be spawning a 66qt ez-dial mono with 4 jars.

Thanks. Excited about my other tubs too. Got a lot going atm. I’ve been wanting to grow rustywhyte for a while now though. I let some sporulate on the sides of the clear bin and the color was just what people describe. Beautiful.

Baeocystin = 0.103 mg/g
Norpsilocin = 0.409 mg/g
Psilocin =  3.687mg/g
Psilocybin = 2.966 mg/g
Total Alkaloids = 7.165 mg/g

Couldn’t agree more.  They’re truly one of the most well balanced varieties, and it’s a bonus in my eyes that they aren’t mutated to hell and back like a lot of modern genetics.  I like the intentionality of it - rusty spores with leucistic body and just wanting it to be the best incarnation of that.  Well done, Pasty.  Knocking up some jars with RW tonight since it’s been years.
