hey
recently i tried the boletus edulis (king bolete) extremely tasty mushie , does anyone have any info on its cultivation , or is it a very hard to grow species ??

It's a mycorrhizal mushroom -> very hard to grow.

It will grow on PDYA, drop a chunk on agar and roll it around on the surface. The chunk will fuzz out like it wants to grow. Growth on agar will start where the chunk rolled.

If you have a flow hood you could probably get away with rubbing the chunk on the surface .

Once you got it growing on agar it will transfer to honey.

Getting it to fruit you are on your own. It probably involves a tansfer to supplemented potting soil and the bare root transplant of a compatible tree and a three year wait.

edit Go easy on the D and Y in the PDYA a little less than half. The mycellium is white linear and appressed and very fast growing above 70 degrees F.
