I’ve never found them to be a contaminant and distilled water has cut down on seeing them for me. My other theory is that it’s condensation dripping down from the lid and then drying on the surface.

A lot of my plates have been getting this weird yellowing of mycelium lately for both APE and PEU and I dont know why. Its not weird shadows it looks more yellow in real life than on pics. Only a few of my plates are very clear white so im gonna use these to make transfers.

But still I think its weird that this is happening often. It cant be a small amount of bacteria causing some yellowing like that?

ive used these for tissue culture in the cannabis field but never for mycology. Do you like them considering you have about half or less surface area?

I don't think that's why I like them, I like them cause I apparantly have no contam and if contam will happen it will probably be very few like the guy above me posted his experience was...

Maybe cause the surface is smaller and less vulnerable is why no/less contam, I dunno...

I do have a nice flow hood and my sterile tek is "casual" so science would say at least the cups are sterile...

Ive had pretty good success with those, just seems like extra work though, opening and closing lids. but then again, its better than wrapping plates
