lol it was my last plate with that swab so I decided what the hell, snap it off and hope something grows if the other plates don't show life

Feel like I just got out of surgery.

Did about a dozen transfers, some of which I’ve been putting off. 4 plates had probably a tablespoon of water in them. Most of it stuck to the lid, but the lightest jostle makes them move and drop. Mycelium was all weird and soaked. Easily torn instead of cut. And the agar was super soft.

Not sure what caused that. Maybe they were the last plates poured out of that bottle or something. Hopefully the transfers recover.

You're fine. Myc grow in LC. Won't care about a little water on a plate. Might make it look funky from being moved around by the water but that's it. You can take a chill pill and go look after THE ring

Yeah the myc was a little weird lookin. True though, we keep them in water no problem. It’ll be nice to have these cultures in dishes I can see into

Tried to get a good shot through the plate lid. I put it against a white door to hopefully make the spots easier to see. Sometimes the spots are easier to see when looking through a camera lens than with the naked eye.

This is a T3 by the way.




Anyone wind up having an opinion on this?

Never run into it on own plate, but I see what you’re talking about

Close. I recently poured 72 2oz sterile cups with MEA. I lost around 20% to contam after letting them rest for almost 3 weeks. No reason I did that, just had other shit going on.

The numbers are like that because of the missing cups and the way they are arranged and shift in the plastic tub.

Edit. I used a 1/4' hole punch (should have gone smaller) and D3's agar transfer tek for 47 of these.

Something is bothering me!

I bought all these cups and in having done my first PC agar'ing I think I want to transfer, no pun intended, to dishes...

I like the big one's and only need a few, what is a good deal on some quality dishes and what parafilm do I get?

As usual, thank you for any help...
