Sometimes using more water can add a bigger buffer to the sensitivity of the heat applied. Making it less sensitive to rapidly changing when the heat temp is adjusted. Makes it thicker if you will.

I know I might have to add more water when I do grain for 3.5hrs, but I just used 3qts for the agar and left the cap on the media bottle a little open...

Bought one of those expensive hot plates for canning, cost more than the presto, and it worked perfectly, when I got to 15psi I lowered to medium and it stayed the whole time at 15psi...

The weight literally almost made no noise, and didn't move at all...

Just a slight hiss every so often with a tiny maybe steam bubble drop...

Think things went perfectly thanks to you guys help...

My secret coin combination is 2 dimes/2knickels and one quarter shrink wrapped and double sided taped...

I moved the coins so it was centered perfectly and it just sat there...

One thing i noticed the other night when doing exactly what you are doing now is I poured about 140º. I think I read somewhere if you pour more like 120º you won't get as much condensation and stack them up to cool. All mine have mad condensate and it's driving me nutz. Have to figure that out somehow. Good luck with the pour.

I keep "buffer plates" on top, since it's usually just the top 2 or 3 that get condensation due to temp changes



The black plates are just old ones I keep around to use as condensation buffers...
Same method should work with condiment cups... also, it may help to store them in a box or tub to help reduce temperature fluctuations
