Huh?  I feel like every damn post has been from the Seattle area...Seattle has been popping off...Portland actually seems very quiet this year.

Portland hasn't been great this year.  A lot of patches I know of just got nuked in the heat.  There's also way more people out hunting than there used to be and fruits are mostly getting ripped up before they can drop spores.  Patches are eating up their chips and dying out before they can spread.

It's a shame we don't see more people in the PNW threads propagating like we used to.

Wasn't it the 2012 or 2013 where a couple of members hit up the seattle parks works yard with LC?  Just lobbed water balloons full of it over the fence into the giant reserve piles of chips that get spread around the city.  Sometimes it's as simple as moving stem butts from one side of a park to the other as you're picking.  Spore prints rubbed on shoes before you go out helps too.  Wash some prints off of foil into a milk jug of dechlorinated water and splash some in different chip beds as you go.  Every little bit helps :sporedrop:

Oh FINE! maybe I just notice the coastal stuff more.

Regarding propagating, I am new to this whole thing but I am attempting cardboard spawn from my finds this year. Put the stem butts between two pieces of cardboard with a couple fistfuls of doug fir saw dust. Appears to be working well so far. I am going to plant them around Tacoma in the spring.

Found a few azurescens on the northern Oregon coast. Drove down to Central Oregon to check a few good cyanescens patches. And... Nothing. I'm guessing it's just the competition, because the other conditions seem perfect still. I also ran into an acquaintance who showed me some fat cyans from a first-year patch. Show those stem butts some love, people!

I only pick pins, because pins are stronger. Everyone knows this. But I'll only pick a pin when I see a mature specimen nearby. Gotta keep an even ratio. Fuck those old bitches, let em rot into the ground.

Back in town for the holiday.  Checked on a spot I found around Thanksgiving and I was pleasantly surprised. Some nice healthy fruits!

I wish I could find some in So Cal. Happy Holidays, y'all!
