Cool from cyan ID request to fruiting indoor wood lover patch.  Either you’re a real fast learner or you like digging up patches.  Maybe I’m missing something.  Just be sure to take all the chips.  Don’t want anyone else finding your spots.

Didn't mean to leave the impression that I was tearing up the town.

This was collected from a spot on my own property. I only found one other spot in the wild which I pretty much left alone. I am hoping to colonize these boxes and then replant the mycelium in the spring around town. Because I think the Heatwave here killed all of the finds round town.

Sometimes I dig up parts of patches and put them in new spots.

Sometimes it's at my place, sometimes I take from one well known spot in SE and spread it all over town, especially across the river and halfway up a hill.

I did it again this year... a few times.

You're welcome.

I apologize for being such a stranger right at the end of the season here. I still haven’t been able to get back into my house since the flooding. I look forward to seeing you guys next year. Great job guys.

Even though I haven’t been putting in as much work and time over the last couple years, I still had a typical season and I appreciate and got love for every single fruit I find.

Plus I’d say six or so ounces went out for Christmas gifts.

Sweet,sweet, cyanescens

I had one of my worst years in a long time this year, only one new patch.

It was abysmal enough that I am dedicating some time to making spawn and starting a lot of new patches.

If y'all already have cult skills please also spread some patches in public areas.

If you don't, the big freeze will probably be the end of the season and you have lots of time to head over to cult and learn agar.

Let's all make it so you can't walk in a public place without stepping on a huge patch!

Done.  Took your advice and dug up all known patches. Feels good man.

Gonna feed em some wood juice soon as the freeze hits.

Edit:  soon as

What do you guys think about timing for digging up myc?  This year as I dug myc from patches I started labeling the time of year I snagged from the patches.  For the last several years I only took small amounts that were during the fruiting season from stem butt’s.

This year I had a thought.  Maybe it’s kinda like cloning from a cannabis plant.  We don’t clone from a flowering plant.  We make sure to take cuts from healthy moms that are in veg.  I labeled this years myc depending on the time of year harvest3d.  I’m going to be sure to snag large amounts early in the year.  I’ll wait until it is ripping through the wood chips during the spring and summer.
I like the myc from big healthy stem butt’s too.  It tends to give a patch the characteristics of the cloned fruit.  Now that the patches have been running from that cloned fruit kinda like a feminized seed or clone, the fruit is identical to its mother.  I could keep going on but I’ll have to see how the myc performs.  So far the myc  from earlier in the season is outperforming the later season samples.

Never thought of it, but that makes a lot of sense!  They throw it all into fruiting and are probably at their weakest after that.

Good to read my minds chattering coming off multiple keyboards!!  F’n eh boys ; ) all the cool kids are doing it …..make a difference…..do it for the children

What is a good “seeding” rate with colonized chips ? Say you’d like to ( you don’t have to say it ) spread to as many areas as possible, but be viable in those spots …. Like a good handful every 10'? 50’ ??  More or less than a handful needed together ? Keep colonized chips in as undisturbed clumps as possible, or break them up loose ( from a 5” thick mat from big monotubs)

I never really gave it much thought, just buried a handful of chips everywhere I find a good spot.  Sometimes I take a few plates of myc, drop them in a gallon jug of chlorine free water, SHAKE THE SHIT OUT OF IT, dilute that in a few more jugs, and go pouring it in chips as I find them.

Liquid inoculant a go-go
