I believe it needs to be mono to mono to cross, but I’m no scientist. 
It amazes me how weedy azzies can be, and how well they are doing in so many places in the world when introduced, but where they are found in the “wild” is such a small and specific climate.

Put em to wood and they get real chunky.  When dry theu look similar to cubes.

its funny, they started on wood chips, then spread to the 2x4. the 2x4 got moved to another part of the yard and boom, they started popping up. not in the wood chips yet tho. I think the wood chips in my garden are spread too thin. they are mixed with soil from outdoor canna garden. Maybe that's why idk.. but yeah wood chips, totally. I need to get a bunch more. only had a few bags of adlerwood chips from the store

Headed out for elk this weekend, so I get to piss off my hunting partner by staring at the ground instead of looking up for elk.


Must.  Find.  Pellies.....

Also a bit off topic but a friendly reminder that it is generally poor form to approach other people you see out picking in the dunes to discuss your current activities, or to ask questions.  A friendly smile and nod go a heck of a lot further and might lead to parking lot gabbing after.

Yeah, it can be a little weird talking to people. I just try to be open though. Lots of people who kind of give off weird vibes turn out to be pretty cool, if you just take some time to get to know em. I just use it as an excuse to practice letting go of my ultra-introverted paranoid tendencies, lmao xD
I figure we're all interested in the same thing, we should at least connect with each other. Plus, I'm in oregon, so I basically just don't give a flying fuck about cops/narcs/rangers, whatever, and didn't really even before the laws changed. Probably just got lucky.

Here's a photo dump from a couple days on the coast at the beginning of November. Excuse the crappy quality, the glass over my phone camera lens is shattered to shit.

Usually I avoid people and other pickers, though some I feel compelled to talk to.

I'll never forget my first time hunting mushrooms. Was 15 years old, picking at a well known park in the Seattle area. I was looking around an area with wood chips off to the side of a trail, and I noticed an old hippie looking guy doing the same thing on the other side and knew he was hunting too. We both kinda drifted towards each other and started talking about mushrooms. He told me a lot of stories from the hippy days and his mushroom trips. Gave me some vague directions to a patch which I never did find. Eventually I found a few cyans and had a nice little trip that night.

Nice nice, yeah almost all of my interactions have been wholesome. I definitely try to keep to myself for the most part though. Honestly what's really awkward is like nosy old ladies who ask what I'm doing, LOL

I can’t speak much to the PNW crowd, I reside in CA, but when I’m up here, I don’t see that many people comparatively.
But i do get being in the hunt zone, it’s primal and can be unpredictable, but I take it like improv, if they want to engage, I will but if they smell sus, or get clingy I dip for cover in the woods!

Last year in golden gate park SF CA, a ‘proper’ man asked what I was looking for? he was 50yards away so I yelled MUSHROOMS he put his head down turned 90 degrees and walked away briskly
