Oneness and attack
    #2740074 -

How can someone who proclaims that we are all one; all elements of the Godhead; particles of love and cosmic wonder; possibly attack another fleck of divinity; another splinter of oneself?

That does not make sense to this humble student.

Maybe they're depressed.
Self-deprecating... self-loathing... it all seems to point to depression.

just because we are all one does not mean we can not harm one another

or does it?!

Who knows.. please define 'spec of divinity' and I will be further able to answer your question

2Ex: just because we are all one does not mean we can not harm one another

I think he's speaking not of the abilityto harm oneself, but the intention behind the act.

Easy, that means they are hypocrites and don't truly understand the idea of "oneness."

The key to spirituality, and the astronomical comprehension of the idea of "oneness" is that the more you learn about it, the more you know you don't know jack shit.

I emplore everyone to read this article right now:

Enjoy.

When you take one person's statement, and extrapolate it to the general population, you are inciting riot, albeit in a reduced state. Is this really where you intended to go with this?

My purpose here, my generalized purpose, is to show us where we are the same. You are showing us where we are different, by taking one person's statement and using it to your advantage.

Ok just making sure.

off-topic: I love your ZPF location thing.  I just ordered The Field by Lynn McTaggart, I assume you've read it?

I truly think we're on the verge of discovering something that will not only bridge the science-spirituality gap, but also change mankind forever.

Sameness is boooooring. It's our differences that make us interesting.

by taking one person's statement and using it to your advantage.

I think you've got this wrong here... there is no immediate advantage to having people not like you for questioning them. The only long-term advantage might be one of getting people to articulate their thoughts better, which makes for better communication.

I agree with you! I imagine that we would agree for the same or even different reasons, but so what. What matters is that yes, we are different and that makes us interesting.

No, hold on.  I may have missed it.  Let me get back to this tomorrow.  I'm tired, and I think I may have missed something.

You're too sharp for me tonight, or you're too fos.  Either way, I'll most definitely get back to you, when I've slept a few.

(Someone pull the phucking thread back up for me tomorrow, just in case I forget. )

Oh I've been studying it for some time, but it was hard to find that book.  I finally just buckled down and ordered it, instead of trying to locate it locally.  Currently I'm reading The Tao Of Physics, which changed my life even before I ever read it.  :ooo:

Ahh yes, but it's those same differences that divide us. The true key to "oneness" is synonymous with "true love" which is synonymous with unconditional acceptance. It's not bad to be different, it's bad to disparage, hate, condemn, etc.. another just because they are different. God, or 'the oneness' (or love) in this sense, couldn't be easier to comprehend! All you have to is realize we're all the same and accept that, and love those differences. The moment you start to condemn another person(s) just because their opinion or view differs, then you've already lost touch with the intrinsic idea of Oneness.

Who's condemning?
*looks around*

Right right.... unconditional acceptance.... blah blah....

Look, I wasn't "put" on this earth to masturbate myselves.
I'm not sure if I was given a purpose... but I've taken one on: I'm here to piss in the wind and dodge traffic.

I was just trying to stay on topic, I wasn't implying you personally condemn. The topic starter was talking about people who imply they are all about "oneness" and proceed to attack anothers' views.

And there's nothing wrong with masturbation. On that note, it's...umm....bed time.
