Oneness and attack

How can someone who proclaims that we are all one; all elements of the Godhead; particles of love and cosmic wonder; possibly attack another fleck of divinity; another splinter of oneself?

That does not make sense to this humble student.

Easy, that means they are hypocrites and don't truly understand the idea of "oneness."

The key to spirituality, and the astronomical comprehension of the idea of "oneness" is that the more you learn about it, the more you know you don't know jack shit.

When you take one person's statement, and extrapolate it to the general population, you are inciting riot, albeit in a reduced state. Is this really where you intended to go with this?

My purpose here, my generalized purpose, is to show us where we are the same. You are showing us where we are different, by taking one person's statement and using it to your advantage.

I think you've got this wrong here... there is no immediate advantage to having people not like you for questioning them. The only long-term advantage might be one of getting people to articulate their thoughts better, which makes for better communication.

I agree with you! I imagine that we would agree for the same or even different reasons, but so what. What matters is that yes, we are different and that makes us interesting.

Oh I've been studying it for some time, but it was hard to find that book.  I finally just buckled down and ordered it, instead of trying to locate it locally.  Currently I'm reading The Tao Of Physics, which changed my life even before I ever read it.  :ooo:

Ahh yes, but it's those same differences that divide us. The true key to "oneness" is synonymous with "true love" which is synonymous with unconditional acceptance. It's not bad to be different, it's bad to disparage, hate, condemn, etc.. another just because they are different. God, or 'the oneness' (or love) in this sense, couldn't be easier to comprehend! All you have to is realize we're all the same and accept that, and love those differences. The moment you start to condemn another person(s) just because their opinion or view differs, then you've already lost touch with the intrinsic idea of Oneness.

I was just trying to stay on topic, I wasn't implying you personally condemn. The topic starter was talking about people who imply they are all about "oneness" and proceed to attack anothers' views.
