i always do that wben taking germination points off a streak plate. i dont wanna waste plates for no reason. im nit one of these ppl that spends 6 months on agar b4 running anything. i dont ever let them grow out much bigger than that. i knkw exactly what i want to take and where i want to take it from. especially at t1. im always on grain by t2 but in the worst case scenario t3 but almost always t2. however those plates il let grow out to about the size of a qtr with 3 on a plate. then they go right to grain👍👍👍

my goal is clones and i want to start fruiting as fast as possible. when ur sittin there making a million transfers at some point u could be transfering away from something you may want without even knowin it. i want my initial gene pool as big as possible. plus wasting time on letting them grow out that big when each 1 goes to its own grain jar is just kinda pointless.

yup aka already done😃 took them this mornin b4 work they should b on grain within 2 or 3 days i imagine

i very rarely will ever let them get mich bigger than this

Here's an update on my first attempt at agar (MS syringe -> agar -> t1)

Here's the mother dish, inoculated on 12/9

I was hoping to get two of these transferred to grain by New Years and it looks like I'm right on track, if not a little ahead of schedule. My plan is to use 2 plates to inoculate 5-6 jars each in order to start clone hunting and continuing to transfer the other plates just to see what happens.

I have a syringe of GT, PE and APE eagerly waiting for plates of their own with the same strategy in mind. I'm going to need to get some more tubs soon. Cheers, mates!

It looks as if you moved the clone tissue all over the place. Those dots look like cube myc to me, but they're similar in size and quantity to the little mold satellites that you get all over the place when you fuck up royally from technique.

Anyway, if it happens to be mold you're going to find out really soon. At any rate I would do a transfer right now.

Advice needed! Want to make PDA agar have no karo syrup, cant buy it fast but need to do transfere from multi spore agar.I did potatoe, honey, carbon agar. Get germination of spores, but I am conserne abiut honey is it ok to use it? Growing cubes mycelium.

Boil potatoes in water for about 30min(small batch)-1hr(big batches like too much PDA *wink wink*).
This extracts from them the starches and nutes you want.
Filter as best as you can.
Grab 500ml of it and add 10g agar.
PC as you would any regular agar vessel. I PC for 45min but that's because I'm crazy.
Now you have PDA. Enjoy.
I don't see a small amount of Honey being a bad addition to your agar as I have used it minimally in Liquid Culture.
PDA is pretty straight forward.

This is the LAGM2021 I need an agar that will not let me down and make me look bad at my first agar attempt that people can learn from!!! Should I buy Antibiotics since I am going wild spore print to agar? or just be clean and transfer a lot?

Save on Gas or electric or babysitting time the pc unless its tradition or you enjoy the Quality time with the Pc. Think about Just run your agar for 30 min. Some run theirs for 15 min!!

I have brewers yeast as an additive what think you what do you think?

Took transfers from these tonight...looking a little better.
Forgot to snap a close up of the GT plate.

I went through and tossed out ~25-30 old plates I had been hoarding.
It seems less is more in this hobby, and wasting all that plastic sucks.
