I like to think the regular setup works pretty good but, I’m also aware that it’s riding a razors edge of sufficient FAE, it’s why I included the optional hole. With the optional hole (which I use on most tubs) I do find running a decent size humidifier helps with maintaining surface conditions since my RH is super low most of the year. I don’t want to assume I’ve got the worst case scenario on that front but it’s close. I hope that people understand I’m not intransigent on the potential for some people to be able to give them more airflow than I’ve allowed for. It’s just the limits of what I myself can get away with.

I have a smaller room dedicated to mush cult, I feel like that helps with the rh in the entire room. but I run your tek with 3 holes on the long side a cluster of 5 at the handle and one centered 5 inches up below the cluster and the FAE seems perfect down here in the south without fanning and it doesnt dry out at all I didnt have to mist one time. and the surface was almost pornographic in conditions. I threw a GT spore syringe together just to test this bad boy out and I just knocked up some tubs with some ape A2G. I really do feel that having a smaller room that my tubs and grow take up the majority of helps out a ton.

Loads of factors that you can bring into play when dialing in a grow. I like to start with the spawn ratio, then chamber design, then deal with the room itself. Glad the tubs are generally working for people and making things easier. That’s always been my goal.

spawn ratio was perfect. design was perfect. only difference is im in the tropics, small room and a humidifier. ill post a few pics of this next go around

Well, sports fans...the results are in for me. 

Here's the unmodified tub:





This is exactly as expected.  This strain of PFR is extremely slow growing and a low producer.  I cloned it because the fruits were so damn potent that the extremely modest yield wasn't an issue with such strong potency.

Here is the exact same strain in the same substrate, conditions, care, and spawned at the same time at the same ratio:





I'm blown away by these results.  To have this many primordia, this soon with this strain is unheard of for me.  As long as I don't see a huge drop in potency, this is utterly spectacular.  I will have to use a liner, it appears, because while the unmodified tub has no sidepins, and I expect it will not develop more than a couple, here is the modified tub:



Moving to liners is a small price to pay for this kind of increase in speed and yield.  I couldn't be happier, and I'll be drilling all my tubs this weekend.

I did it once, I don’t recommend a sub that large for cubes. It worked but they are not like Armillaria and don’t appreciate it as much.

Little update here:

2nd flush is coming ok. Better than the first one in unmodified tub. Should I clone the bigger one? Or it's just a chance it grew first?


These 2 started 10th. 1st is using double the spawn compared to 2nd. 6L coir to 4L spawn. 2nd one is 6L to 2L. How do they look to your eyes?:


And this one got a contam :frown: Will grow outside.

That last shot is the weirdest case of green ever.


I finally bought my first high walled tub yesterday to try this out, 66qt with the latches.

I was just wondering why I should cut big ass holes and then stuff them with something to restrict the airflow rather than just cut smaller holes.

I wish I had seen this before I cut a bunch of 2in holes in 5 tubs.

So Pasty, You're running this tub with a half brick of canna coir, 3 quarts verm and 5 liters of water. I've just followed this recipe....half of that double ended brick is 1100 grams, are you using this entire side of the block for 2 tubs?...you must be.

That’s about right but my bricks weigh between 900-1100 grams, a bit of variance there. I also mix it all up and measure out the resulting mixture, 12 litres sub, 4 quarts WBS, 2 litres of sub mix as top layer per tub.
