This will probably go down as the dumbest thing I have ever done. Because of that this will definitely  be posted on the main boards and not just sit in my journal. I expect this to fail. But maybe it might work out. If you decide to watch please, refrain from asking questions, answer is that for now I don't want to talk about it. Hell I'm probably drunk.


Step 1. Spawn. Spawn is a bit overgrown and old. Fuck it.




Step 2. Spawn to coir verm at 1:2 ratio. Use a liner for ease of clean up. Mix well. Ensure its level.




So we are 4 days in and the spawn run is looking healthy. Had some pooling water on top of the bag I had laid over it but, it seems to have not hurt anything and I am thinking we should be good to case in a few days. Got a bucket of coir verm ready to go. Will go right into fruiting conditions. Fingers crossed.




Step 3 people. Drink a lot of booze on new years eve. Then the next day drink more cause it's a new year. Prep up 2 buckets of coir verm and use em to case this bastard tub cause it's close enough and I want it fruiting. Took nearly both of them to do it however I need this casing thick, bout 3/4" is the ticket.




Step 4. Drink a new spot on your liver while you nervously wait for a pin. Spot one and have a drink to celebrate.




You can see the pin in the second pic, unfortunately my phone kinda blows for pics. Need to get my camera back in the game. Last pic shows some knots in the little hollow in the deep casing. Having this first pin has me feeling better. Time for a rum and coke.



Welp it's getting time to snag some of these early guys. The pinset shit the bed but these guys are gnarly.



Still lots of pins punching up. Gonna be a very plural flush I think.

Combine first flush 6883 wet grams.

2nd flush yield 1853 + 1506 +1155 + 446 + 1891 + 641

Total 2nd flush 7492


3rd Flush









Combined yield: 1809 + 651 + 560 + ???

Total 3rd flush = 3020 wet grams

Total combined yield 17395 wet grams

Well I got some bad news. Water from an unexpected source started to pool on the protective bags and hindered mycelium recovery. While the grains are showing recovery despite this, it's not as robust as in parts where the water wasn't an issue.

I have taken steps to correct and hopefully no mold spores have managed to take advantage of this slowed recovery. Should know soon either way. Next time I try this I will be cognizant of the potenting for this to happen. Learning on the fly is always worth something, I just really wanted this tub to work first time. Maybe a casing at spawning next time will help.

Stay tuned, this ain't over yet.
