KEEP 'EM ALIVE. Dunking or ReHydrating H Poo/Spawn casings...

so i've heard this and that about dunking casings. i just recently decided that dunking cakes is a worthwhile task. but what about H Poo/spawn casings? after each flush, i've been scraping off most (if not all) of the old casing mix, deep-scratching the mycelial block a bit, and re-casing. i had a couple spawn tubs that pinned in the dark while they were colonizing. so rather than scraping off a great pinset JUST to case and wait for a NEW pinset, i put em right into the Martha with the other casings.
so far, after a couple flushes, i can tell there is still a GOOD amount of water content in the casings. they are shrinking, of course, but not losing a lot of weight yet - which is good, i'm sure.
but this being my first Martha (and Poo/spawn) experiment, i don't know how many flushes to expect from each one (w/o dunking)... and when they do dry up and stop fruiting, how successful have you guys been with dunking at this point???

With my 12 quart tubs i usually get one strong flush, and then 2 or three weaker flushes. Even with dunking i havent gotten a secondary flush to produce more then a 1/2 oz.

poo sticks together really well when colonized but when i dunk i use the pan that the casing is in to do the soak.
most flushes i've ever gotten from a poo casing would be 5 from a mexican-cubi. most of the time it's only 3. with a great care i beleive you could get quite a few.

With poo i got about 4 good flushes, first was huge and the rest were ok, in one of them i tried dunking and it made a change at the size of the fruits, so its up to you. i dont scrape or anything, just taking of what loos casing layer and after the dunk i'm adding new patches where needed.. good lick...
