They should be fine unwrapped I’ve let them sit in a SAB for a few days without any problems . How big is your SAB?i have a 110qt and know the pain of trying to open a 25 pack of dishes inside .

I poured 20 plates in the SAB yesterday.  Will they be fine unwrapped in the SAB until tomorrow?  I wanted them to cool before wrapping, then never got around to it.  I also can't figure out how you get them back in the sleeve without them opening up and cracking--the plastic sleeves are just too narrow.  Same with removing them--I have to open the sleeve outside the SAB then lift them out 5 at a time.  Anyone have any advice?

Well we were talking the other day and felt that leaving the the plates too long led to contamination.
So, I prefer to wrap the plates after no more than an hour.

Sorry, but have you really been lurking since 2005?

I would cover my arm holes and leave for several days. Never had an issue. Doing a stack of 20 in the SAB may be a little difficult. I cut the bottom off and slowly slide them out like you’re pinching a roll of toothpaste working your way down. Resleeving in there could be difficult especially with a tight sleeve.

Well I'm sure you're right, but you are the artist of plates!
Your sterile tek must be spot on. But, I'm still at 25% auto contam
and I didn't have luck leaving the plates in the SAB.
Of course, like I'm saying, it could be something else wrong with my tek.

Today I poured plates and I made sure not to drop the bottom plate of the stack.
Also to some extent, not to pull the cover off too quick, sucking air in.
Also lifting the plates back a bit further from the bottom plate.

Anyway, I have great hopes for less auto contams this time.
Oh, and you beat me to it, no color!
Just 8% agar, 7.5% LME, and bottled water.

Cheers!

That plate definitely makes it easy to get a clean sample of one sector.

I used to be super careful unsleeving plates but now I just hack them open with the scalpel and grab five at a time and stack them in the SAB.

As long as you’re careful not to let them separate and keep the sleeve intact above the ones inside it seems to be fine.

I'm new to pans and mine look quite similar, the good ones.

Do your pan plates grow up to the edges ? Most of my pan plates stop at about the stage your plate here is now. After a transfer they keep going. I have not been able yet to figure out what is happening, tried all sorts of recipes.

That does look like good pan myc.

With pans most of mine end up growing over the whole plate and climbing the wall a little bit some of them have stopped about halfway.

Yeah, usually they cover plate within 2 weeks. Hope yours will go fine soon

Thanks, A.k.a!

Yeah it's amazing that people forget but if you just look at your old thread history you can see what you've said. One thing about it the internet never forgets.

Not trying to hijack the thread.  Didn't forget anything.  Not sure what indicates I forgot.
