For what it's worth i can literally guarantee that's cobweb lol i happen to be somewhat of an expert at growing it unintentionally hahaha here's a pic of some on grain that started on a plate that was colonized but had exactly what you have on the surface thinly (i figured fuck it full send let's see how she goes)



you'd think cobweb would take over rapidly but i have my place on the cooler side of things and that seems to massively impede on it's ability to spread in 24 hours.. still spreads fast af tho lol also @D3 it looks like you've built your own flow hood.. got a tek on that my man?

Here she is a few days later alongside the transfers i did. Basically just cobweb T1s.  The first pic I posted was 24 hours after a "clean" visual assessment without magnification. Might have seen it at 40x.

I'm super paranoid now, but its comforting that if the cobweb takes hold, its germs and spreads fast. about 10x faster (at least) than myc. On saturday, it had not started eating the dye, but as you can appreciate in the pic, since then its been feasting on it.

My temps in the spot where I incubate range from 70-76.  I have a very generalized warehouse type heating system and a completely open floorplan.  It got cold last night and the low tempo recorded on my $7.99 accurite is 72.  Stupidly, I am not keeping that thing where i keep my plates in storage. I take IR gun temps when i get in in the morning and throiughout the day. The storage spot runs 2-3 degrees higher because its grabbing air from higher up in the space and blowing it downward.  I'm building an insulated closet that will always stay at 74... or whatever I decide is the optimal temp.

The pattern is nothing like the green stuff I am finding... I have only had one plate out of hundreds (working plates) contam with anything that looked like green sporulating mold. it pops up 3 or 4 colonies per "honeypot" plate that i put outside of my hood to see what the general pressure level is in the space...

The green shit looks like this about a week after it germinates on a plate.

I "catch" colonies like this on most of my test plates. I keep them open for any period between 20 minutes and 2 hours. Over 3 weeks, everything that has "gone green" like this has taken 4 days after plate is closed to be appreciated visually without magnification on a quick inspection.

It always goes green in the center and has white growth for a couiple of mm around the edge as it grows.

The suspected "cobweb" grows much faster.  As I have never caught it on a honeypot, i can't tell you how long it took to germ

I will keep these plates till they turn green or change your mind.
