Glenn Greenwald bashes the mainstream news on Joe Rogan for ignoring the Biden story (4 minutes):

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Oh shit.  Glenn Greenwald just resigned from the Intercept because they censored an article of his that was critical of Joe Biden.

Quote:
I had no objection to their disagreement with my views of what this Biden evidence shows: as a last-ditch attempt to avoid being censored, I encouraged them to air their disagreements with me by writing their own articles that critique my perspectives and letting readers decide who is right, the way any confident and healthy media outlet would. But modern media outlets do not air dissent; they quash it. So censorship of my article, rather than engagement with it, was the path these Biden-supporting editors chose.

Good riddance.  That piece he wrote was pure babble.  I can see why no reputable media wants to run these stories.  There's literally no meat to them at all.  What's the headline going to read?  "Relative of former VP involved in international business deals."

Add to that the fact that last presidential election, we were fed a bunch of bullshit about emails and private servers.  This time, it's emails and Chinese business deals.  I can see why no one would run it.

Yeah, it pretty much is.  If you strip a society of all law, you fundamentally change society.

The Intercept said Greenwald resigned because they insisted he provide evidence of his claims against Biden before they would release his story. Greenwald viewed this as censorship, but isn't that how journalism is supposed to work?

Yes, we all know you think censorship is better than discussion, but for anyone who's interested, here's the censored article.

Have you heard about the Hunter Biden emails yet?  Or has that been suppressed?  I thought we were FAR beyond questioning if they're real or not.  If you think they're fake, speak up now.

Yes, we are.  Do you want to make a signature bet about their authenticity?

No, you don't, because you know they're authentic.

Greenwald did include the appropriate skepticism:

Quote:
Thus far, no proof has been offered by Bubolinski that Biden ever consummated his participation in any of those discussed deals. The Wall Street Journal says that it found no corporate records reflecting that a deal was finalized and that "text messages and emails related to the venture that were provided to the Journal by Mr. Bobulinski, mainly from the spring and summer of 2017, don’t show either Hunter Biden or James Biden discussing a role for Joe Biden in the venture."

But nobody claimed that any such deals had been consummated -- so the conclusion that one had not been does not negate the story. Moreover, some texts and emails whose authenticity has not been disputed state that Hunter was adamant that any discussions about the involvement of the Vice President be held only verbally and never put in writing.

1. We don't know if they're authentic
2. If they are authentic, we don't know if they're true
3. If they are true, we don't know if Joe Biden had any knowledge of any of it
4. If Joe Biden did have knowledge, we have no evidence of any criminal conduct.

So, what's the story?  A whole lot of "IFs" that, even if true, mean absolutely nothing.  How is this news?

Nor did we know if Trump was colluding with Russia.  But a massive 3+ year investigation was conducted, which I supported.

Of course Enlil thinks more censorship means more freedom, amirite Enlil?

An DOJ investigation is not the same as a smear campaign run by a campaign and a candidate’s lawyer. The FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign wasn’t even made public until two months after the election.

It didn't stop the MSM from spewing endless conspiracy theories about Trump and Russia-Gate for 4 years. At the end, the MSM said it was just speculation and they were wrong about it.

Dude the DOJ spent two years investigating Russia-gate because there was probable cause to do so. How much of the MSM reporting was wrong? I’m not talking about speculation about what the reporting means, I’m talking about the factual accuracy of the reports. Remember that Russia hacked the DNC and then those hacked emails were then released by Wikileaks in an effort to clearly harm the Clinton campaign. There was plenty of reason to dig into Russia’s support of the Trump campaign.

The Biden laptop evidence simply does not meet journalistic standards. The sources are all extremely partisan, and they are not providing media outlets access to the actual data. The laptop info is fairly equivalent to the Steele dossier. It’s information that has investigatory value, but absolutely needs to be confirmed by proper law enforcement. Remember that while the existence of the Steele dossier was known before the election, the contents of the dossier were not reported until two months after the election.

Were the hacked emails real?  They showed actual corruption by the DNC.  But who cares about DNC corruption if we think Russia gave us the info?

I seem to recall about one fake story per month.

Maybe it was an effort to make the American people less ignorant of American election corruption?  You know, to sow discord between Americans who like corruption and those who don't.

The was no criminal activity revealed in the DNC emails. Of course the emails were real. The DNC reported they had been stolen.

The hacking was a criminal act, and it was perpetrated by a foreign nation in an attempt to hurt one candidate and help another. That’s corruption too, which you seem to ignore.
