Just see the hole sizes Bod used here:

It doesn't need to be too precise - just stab a pencil through in 4 different spots or so. Also if you can find a clear bag about the same size even better - allows you to see the growth on the inside.

I follow the SFF shoebox tek to a T up until an even pinset has formed and then switch out the lid with a bag like Bod does :thumbup:

Thanks a lot I’m gonna give that a shot for my second flush, I still got a bunch of small pins they don’t look like aborts should I just leave the pins on when I submerge it in water?

Is this bacterial contamination? I submerged the substrate for 3 hours and it’s a full 24 hours later and it still looks pretty damn wet and the side of the sub is lookin yellow the pins on there where left over from the first flush

It looks ok just soaked. A sub that thin probably would’ve been good with a lot less rehydration.

Would it be a bad idea for me to leave the shoebox partially open by sliding the lid back ? The sub is still pretty damn wet, do people ever open air fruit shoeboxes? Or would that be way too much fae with no humidity

In how is it very educational? Educational as in that it does not work haha? I feel like my mushrooms aren’t getting enough fae they keep coming out skinny and short with white fuzz on the base

I noticed they just recently changed the shoeboxes. They have grey lids now and When you stack them they no longer have the same gap size anymore. We'll probably have to drill some holes now.

I have had very desirable results using this tek. Thank you!
I’ve cultured quite a bit, and have been using honey liquid culture, and all other teks are bods.

My first clone, 2nd flush. Still haven't hit a full canopy or 300g wet yet but I am getting better. When these got close to the lid, I dub tub'ed it.
