I made many mistakes putting zapotecorum on my substrate mix - and hopefully learned..

now up is (a smaller amount spawn-wise of) aztecorum on straw pellets which i understand can be tricky to get a feel for sometimes esp in terms of moisture level as you prep it.
Wish me luck.. :smile:

In meanwhile i got recent spores of 2 strains of caerulescens so i am gonna get crackin on that and weraroa tomorroa

Just curious: any idea if any of the follow grow surprisingly well with just a coir grow with high spawn rate? (Pseudo)aztecorum, semperviva, zapotecorum.. or if they really want more nitrogen and proteins and stuff what if you supplement that coir and sterilize it? with like poo or bloodmeal or whatever?

    Funny you mentioned it-- I just finished a few small jars of re-hydrated wheat straw pellets mixed with fine verm at a ratio of about 60/40 pellets/verm

    I put a wedge of Zapotecorum and South African Transkei in the two half-pint's just today as a test:

    A few pics of the Zapo pins from yesterday. CO2 levels might be running a little high. There's been a few down spikes in RH too. Thanks to some cold days bringing the RH down to 40% in the house. The lowest the tub has been is 82%.
    There's a light directly above but they seem distracted slightly by the natural light coming in two windows today. They may become a little twisty, but we'll see. I may move the tub to another room.
