so if this could be managed without it being at your expense you would be ok with it? or would you just automatically assume that if there's a solution put to work on the issue that it would somehow cut into your benefit?

like what if they cut out funding for a totally unnecessary gov agency like the dea and put that funding to actual good use?

No, making cuts to waste money on non-US citizens doesn't work for me at all. US tax revenue needs to go to the needs of US citizens.

We have a serious homeless problem in the US, we have millions living in dire poverty. Resources going to illegals takes money away from our citizens, that's unacceptable.

We have system that allows for legal immigration, if someone doesn't qualify, so be it.

what specific part of your life will be affected? you and you alone. what direct impact will immigrants create to lower YOUR standard of living?

as time goes on, technology and automation advancements will affect the labor market more than any influx of availabe workers..

labor markets are always going to be the the lowest paid jobs. unless you are working in the administrative side, labor doesnt pay very much. thats why its drilled into our heads in high school that college is the only option if you want to live above the poverty line.

so isnt it fair to say that the US govt should offer free college courses to underprivileged peoples in order to decrease the number of homeless and poor families.

Taxes are the perfect example, money spent on illegals is money that could go to US citizens like myself.

I agree, automation is a net destroyer of jobs and is likely to do much more in the future.

As far as educating more people is concerned, an economy can only absorb so many educated people. So it's not an solution by any means.  Should the government help the costs associated with college? Absolutely.

Depends on which definition of globalism we’re using today. You realize the ruling class already doesn’t abide by borders? Borders only restrict labor. If the ruling class didn’t have us all sequestered in different nations with different labor laws and different wage systems and different standards of living, globalism would be a good thing.

You only think nationalism is good because you’re the house n*gger.  While the rest of the world slaves away in the fields, you’re baking pies and making tea. You lucked out and got the best available position for a working class human: you were born inside the imperial center, whose workers get the highest standard of living among all working classes. If you were born in Haiti something tells me you wouldn’t be so high and mighty about nationalism. Yet you still refuse to accept that where and when you happened to be born has any effect on your ideology. Sad.

I have always stated I don't blame the migrants for wanting a better life, my issue is that it's at my expense. I guess you would suggest I should lower my standard of living to have others benefit from it, I'm not willing to do so.

Does that make my stance on nationalism hypocritical? I don't believe so.

No it just makes you amoral, and abets your racism.

This.

Leftists name call. Meanwhile they have their own issues that are destroying the country.

Just remember this.

Whatever happens, the leftists will attack you personally.

Don't worry though!

They allow you to see how normally polite you are.

The left are Adult name callers who want to save the world from racism, global warming, capitalism, and the patriarchy.

Strange, they can't utter a sentence without attacking someone personally.

I can't imagine their ideas and rhetoric will make it far in the US or the world.

Most on the left are too stupid to understand and realize they're advocates for The Elites social and economic agendas.

Such arrogance from the only two people on this sub forum too afraid to actually debate the issues.

thats not how taxes work. and not to mention the USA is in trillions of dollars in debt. if they dont use tax dollars to spend on immigrants, their not going to just put it back in our paychecks. thats very foolish way of thinking.

and wouldnt it make more sense to tax the wealthy at a higher rate? hopefully that way we folks at the bottom wouldn't be taxed as hard.

and you think only a handful pf people should be educated and not everyone? thats a very stupid thing to say "an economy can only absorb so many educated people". please elaborate on that.

Most people won't be of any value to the workforce later on, prob much later but this will almost indefinitely become the reality of it. Automation makes human interaction and roles more and more obsolete. So if people won't be able to have jobs then where will their income be derived?

In that situation the role of gov should prob be to provide its citizens what the free market economy can't manage to provide for citizens itself.

This is why I kind of really like the idea of Yang's UBI platform policy. This would invert the current economic strategy by causing a trickle up economy. Instead of working shit jobs to buy stuff we don't need, it will give us a chance to redesign the very infrastructure so that people aren't inevitably trapped into lives of monotony and deprivation.

your standard of living will neither increase or decrease unless you are the one responsible for the change. blaming immigrants for something that will never affect you only leads me to believe that you have some kind of hidden agenda.

what part of your standard of living will be lowered in conjunction with an increase of immigration to the usa? serious question qman

We have a labor market that hasn't seen real wage growth for several decades due to immigration and globalization.  That's a serious issue that lowers US citizens standard of living.

Illegals also use up to 8 times more in tax revenue than they generate.  Who makes up the difference?  US citizens.

The Elite are always pro-immigration, it dilutes wages for ALL US citizens.  They don't give two fucks about "cultural diversity" or any of the lefts talking points.  It's always about the money.

I highly doubt there's a lack of wage growth due to immigration.  More like cheap rich folks hoarding to squander on gop elections.

It makes me honest. It's easy to say the opposite and do nothing about it, which is pretty much the case with people that claim otherwise.

I understand how taxes work, why not tax the wealthy more and don't piss money away on illegals?

How does more educated people create more economic prosperity?  Does more accountants create more accounting work? No.  Does more lawyers create more legal work? No. Does more engineers create more building projects? No.

Having a educated workforce is only useful when there's a need for it.  The best economic periods of US history had good paying jobs for people without a college degree, good manufacturing jobs that companies trained workers to do.

Norway is fine IF we had a shortage of labor, but that's not the case today.  Again, when we see several decades of solid real wage growth, then we can discuss LEGAL immigration into the US. Until that happens, I don't want to hear about it.

I answered the question (taxes), you just don't like the answer. You're rationalization is the reduction in government spending won't directly reduce taxes for people. That's a speculation on your part and really doesn't change the reality of the argument.

and how many of YOUR very own tax dollars are going to be spent on immigrants? please tell me, since you seem to think your being bled tax money to pay for someone else's well-being.

you argue that you would pay less in taxes. well, how much do you pay in taxes that is already benefiting immigrants?

there will never be a reduction of govt spending. thats ludicris. they have a budget and they decide where to use funds. they dont spend less in one area and have cash laying around. the use every dollar and then some
