Yeah that’s what I thought - any idea on a conversation estimate per g compared to cubes?

For a level 1 trip, it's 0.7g for ovoids and 0.8g for cubes. Also, why would you want something that grows on shit when you've got woodlovers?

I wish we had ovoids in Ireland, it must be nice to have a springtime active to look forward to. At least I've got morels and St. George's mushrooms to hunt anyway, yum!

I have a new flush of ovoids coming up in my yard. Will post pics tomorrow but they are all the way around the fern they are covered by. Very early pins but exciting.

A single Gymnopilus aeruginosus luteofolius clade from this morning . I usually find these by the cluster and it was weird finding just a single fruit.

Keep looking, this front coming through will start them pinning before the rain starts and up to 77-10days after, if the humidity stays up above 65%.

Excellent finds!  I'll be out the next couple days taking a peek around.  Maybe bust my Ovoid cherry if I'm lucky.

I hope this is allowed but I'm new to shroom hunting but have spent probably 20 hours over the past three weekends searching through the Atlanta area and haven't found anything at all.

I think I understand what I'm looking for when it comes to Ovoids: flowing water, sand, dead branches/mulch, but no luck at all.

I did find some cool stuff like this (no idea what it is) and got some good hiking in at least:

Anyway I could use some guidance or general direction if anyone feels like helping me a bit. Do I just need to walk around city parks and look around a little off the path, or should I be going way deep into the forests of Chattahoochee or something, miles off the path to find things?

Also how hard is it to generally find, like should I be feeling bad after 20 hours or is this something like winning the lottery?

Not asking for a specific spot at all, just general tips on how to find an area to start searching, or maybe like a large general area to start searching in. Feel free to PM me if that is more appropriate.

I can name each person that has found these in GA (and it’s less than 10 people) so it’s not like they’re crazy widespread or anything (yet). You seem to have a good handle on the habitat to seek. 20 hours is a drop in the bucket. Keep at it. I’ve located the proper habitat hundreds and hundreds of times at the correct time of year and only found it a couple times.

Personally,  I would be searching creeks, rivers,  parks  anywhere there is buried wood in large amounts or Landscaping with woodchips. You just have to get out and look. If you are fortunate enough to find them, replant the stem butts at home in flower pots or a bed of wood shavings, saw dust, woodchips.

Thanks guys, it was raining today but I checked out two parks anyway. Did actually find a good handful of mushrooms in a wood chipped area but they were all those big white chubby looking things. Not what I'm looking for.

Been scouting some places to check out tomorrow so hopefully next time I post here it will be with a find.
