Found in northern orgon, ID Request * 1

These were found in wood chip mulch almost on top of a burned out
stump. I do not know the wood type. They grew in groupings of 4-6
with a height of approximately 3-4 inches. There was no distinct smell
and taste was not acquired. The cap is conical with striations radiating
from approximately 1/4 the radius to the edge. The edge has inking
with age. There is no veil or veil ring. The stem is hollow, and there is no
appearent bluing with brusing.

they arent active if that is what you were loooking for they look like inkycaps but dont take my advice other than that they arent active

Nope not looking for active, just trying to expand my identification abilities. I have looked through the flied guide I bought and was not able to find a species that I thought it was. But hey, I will look in a larger guide to see if I can figure it out.

Yeah, that'd be some species of the coprinus genus. Can't find a good match in my book, maybe someone else'd like to give it a try.

am i correct that there seem to be small white granules on the caps of those?

Coprinus domesticus

If ID is correct this specimen according to Greg Wright (Mushrooms Demystified) is "Of very good flavor when cooked."

Keep in mind that some Coprinus species can cause undesireable reactions when consumed with or before (up to 1 day) alcohol consumption.

the period can be more thn 1 day. it is not advisable to consume alcohol within several days [before or after] of a coprine containing species.

if there are any of these granules on the caps they are C. micaceus, wich is not known to contain coprine or any of the related conpounds to my knowlege.

Thank you everyone. Yes they are covered in crystals?? I thought this was quite wierd. There are many mushrooms growing around here, so I hope to bring some more ID requests in the near future. This is a very interesting hobby:)

Thank you for the correction. I have re-read the details and agree micaeus is a more proper ID. I looked for a reference regarding the cprinus/alcohol reaction but could not find an accurate time frame. I originally had up to two days, however I bet it varies greatly in the population consuming the fruits.

Also in Northern Oregon, found by itself, wasn't sure of the id myself but maybe the same? I left it be, but was delighted to take a picture.
