Are they turning you into who they want you to be?
    #25865980 -

Are you trying to turn him into someone else?

Social constructionists believe that Ethics is arbitrary. Morality is relative. They believe there is no biological grounding in relationship to human behavior, especially in the category of ethics, and that’s dangerous, especially in the category of ethics, because that means people are anything you want to turn them into, and you bloody well better be very careful of anyone who thinks that way. The evidence that it’s wrong to think that way is overwhelming. From an evolutionary perspective, ethical standards of the most crucial sort not only evolved, but spontaneously reemerge in the dramatic play of children.

It's possible for two or three people to try and make you "just like their uncle"...

When would they begin trying, how long would it take, and at what point in my uncle's life are they trying to make me imitate?

When it happens would be when they are visiting, maybe at Christmas.

The point in your life is when you are silent and they would also ridicule you for being silent.  They might emphasize their uncle's tendency to say, "are you allowed to do that?"  And then they would ridicule their uncle for not knowing, asserting, "he should know if I'm allowed."

They would also emphasize their uncle's tendency for being alone and living in his parents house, asserting that their uncle's parents are no longer alive.  Then they would complain that they feel like crying.

A Christmas visit wouldn't do it for me.

Behavioral modification takes lots of repetition and can easily become extinct.

I would be more suspect of humanities at schools and colleges that dress boys up in girl clothes and support hormone blockers.

If the family can turn you into an uncle, I guess the schools are turning our children into trannys.

In my case, it was anytime I visited my parents, these kids would come over uninvited and launch into this tiresome spiel about their uncle and how much I resembled him and everything they were saying about him, I didn't want to be, but they kept insisting.

I am trying to eliminate my exposure to these kids.  When I visit my parents, I now emphasize that the kids are not welcome to come over and visit while I am visiting.

I don't like being silent, I don't think of myself as a non-talker, and I don't like thinking about my parents dead and me stuck living in their house by myself.

I also don't enjoy policing people, "are you allowed to do that."

And I also don't enjoy thinking of myself as somebody who is not as he should be, which is what they keep saying about their uncle.

Sometimes I wonder if their father is training these kids to extort both my identity and my parents property and trying to make sure I get sidelined, silenced, labeled and discarded.

There might be parents who try to encourage their boy to be a girl.  When I traveled to Hilo, I noticed I large proportion of men dressing in drag, some of them had undergone hormone therapy to become full women.  I don't know if these men were pressured to become women, I think many men see femaleness as more desirable than maleness.  "Women and children first" when the ship is sinking is not exactly motivation to be a man.  Men like the idea of being women because it means they are unconditionally loved and protected. Men are generally valued by how dangerous or stressful their job is, and they don't pay you big $$ unless you are harming yourself or harming others.

My theory of tranny's is above.  Men are motivated to be women because of the social benefits of being a woman.  You don't have to risk your life for $$$ and you can also ask for unconditional basic income, getting paid for being comfortable in the house and running the kitchen.

“But what about children?” Again, there is no ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The search for an answer through the mind leads nowhere. We use children as pawns in the game of our conceit, and we pile up misery; we use them as another means of escape from ourselves. When children are not used as a means, they have a significance which is not the significance that you, or society, or the State may give them." [J. Krishnamurti]

there is no you, only us.

life is really that bad. to struggle in-between a finite persistent "being" and a twilight escape from ennui.

NATURAL LAW Count the times you have exclaimed, 'Please leave me alone.' You have a right to that statement. But people lead such empty lives they find it hard to leave others alone. And of course they loudly justify their insolent interference. Realize that intrusion into your life by any person or organization is a violation of spiritual and natural law. Value this law and it will show you exactly how to keep your life your life.

I wonder, if visiting kids are a problem, how old  you are ?

In any case, being 'centered' makes a difference:

"A beautiful girl in the village was pregnant. Her angry parents demanded to know who was the father. At first resistant to confess, the anxious and embarrassed girl finally pointed to Hakuin, the Zen master whom everyone previously revered for living such a pure life. When the outraged parents confronted Hakuin with their daughter's accusation, he simply replied "Is that so?"

When the child was born, the parents brought it to the Hakuin, who now was viewed as a pariah by the whole village. They demanded that he take care of the child since it was his responsibility. "Is that so?" Hakuin said calmly as he accepted the child.

For many months he took very good care of the child until the daughter could no longer withstand the lie she had told. She confessed that the real father was a young man in the village whom she had tried to protect. The parents immediately went to Hakuin to see if he would return the baby. With profuse apologies they explained what had happened. "Is that so?" Hakuin said as he handed them the child. "

Today, a 38 year old man wrestling / dancing with archetypal perceptions.
Thanks for the Hakuin passage.  I find both the past and future dreadful. The present moment is enough, the imagination makes the 'now / what is' too much or not enough.  Fear is to be understood through analysis, analysis being the factor of postponement.

Making a friend out of comedy and not finding oneself on the wrong side of it would be the value.  Writing exposes the clash between ideal and fact.

From the onion (satire):
