As long as you are thinking in linear concepts you will not understand this universe * 2
    #25758035 -

You can only understand the universe through experience.

Experiential thoughts that cannot be put to words.

Finding reality is impossible. Such comforts do not exist.

All there is left to do is discover possibilities.

Frequency of conciousness... The radio reality receiver... Your brain.

Try to see names and forms are not there. Nothing is what it appears to be.

The world IS anything.

some people will understand a lot of the universe, by finding what is important in their lives and pursuing those directions (lines of thinking, "linear concepts").

some people may come to understand moments of life by direct experience as you suggest, though the understanding is not a radio broadcast it is assimilation of life into memory.

many will always be lost and suffering no matter how they try to think or not think, never knowing what is important to their own lives or sensing it directly.

but just to show you know what you are talking about, can you provide examples of a linear concept versus a non-linear concept, just to make this thread a little less ambiguous.

Linear concept is like the world is matter, I am a human.

Experiential thinking is like being taught something by reality itself. Strange coincidences, new realities, unusual lucidity.

Reminds me of something guitarist Kawabata Makoto of Acid Mothers Temple once said - a musician does not play music, music plays the musician. The experience of being played by music is like, as you say, being taught by reality itself.

A mind released plays the universe.

A mind imprisoned plays its own cries.

You might say that's the difference between Frédéric Chopin and Eminem respectively.

uuuh no. not at all. you do not get to just decide everything based on that twisted worldview of yours.

if someone who can fight their own battles doesn't feel imprisoned, then they are quite free. and in your example, i see no "cries" being made to imprison anyone. that's just your twisted and jejune interpretation based on the notion that you think everyone who isn't godly is demonic. but little did you know, it's really the other way around.

If there is an ultimate frequency it must be break to your knees and try to sustain its glory type of thing.

sorta like a big line coke...and having your eyes melt out of your head, so you have to bend knee and prop your self upright with your fist to the floor- so you don't pass out.

This makes me think of what Einstein said about imagination being more important then knowledge.

The "utimate frequency" discussion above also ties in with what he said here:

“The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenetrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties – this knowledge, this feeling … that is the core of the true religious sentiment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself among profoundly religious men.”....Einstein

If flow is a continuum then its linear from beginning to end..

But the peace of mind might be in the moment in the middle..?

Einstein ranks high among linear thinkers, but as mentioned above, he dives into his non-linear as well.
both ways of thinking are important for mental growth.

it's pretty incredible to think that our imaginations could be (ARE) so powerful,

they they could (CAN) change reality

i wonder what Albert himself would post in this thread right now.

you set up a contradiction by the words you use, and perhaps set up a sort of double bind.

you are only saying apples don't equal oranges ( ie. experience vs thoughts/concepts)

but both are fruits

what does this mean?
it means you can't understand experience without concepts
and you can't have concepts you don't experience,
you have set up an artificial division

(whether purposefully or not)
and claim to have discovered something novel.

drinking water when thirsty is of course different from knowing H2O
and using that knowledge in understanding chemistry etc.

As humans both are useful. But even the 2 together don't equal any great conclusion.

Seems the same goes for all experience & thought/concepts.

Many folks have had enlightenment experiences (on drugs) that eventually fade away, and amount to nothing. And Obviously concepts don't usually lead to deep insight by themselves. So again, neither are any guarantee, of ultimate anything.

Your statement: ""As long as you are thinking in linear concepts you will not understand this universe" is itself a "linear concept".
unlike for example
from the heart sutra: ..."form is emptiness, emptiness is form"...
or much of the Tao de Ching
which also employs paradox

so this sort of view goes back thousands of years

Using  paradox is about the best one do with language, ( when attempting to speak of so called "ultimate truth") as language is itself pretty much a communication system based on "linear concepts". Which we perceive only through experiencing it subjectively.

What about continuations and branching..or otherwise growing?

Taking something further than it has been taken before?

Talking and thinking is also a type of experience..

Though i think when we project instead of have unity in either..we are not at our full capacity..all though it may lead to that specifically..!!

"As long as you are thinking in linear concepts you will not understand this universe, --You can only understand the universe through experience. "

basically a useless statement equivalent to saying as long as you are using a screw driver you are not using a hammer.

No one wants to "understand" experience while it's happening.
This is completely obvious, just think of sexual experience or enjoying a meal.

And no one expects to have an experience of swimming while studying the math formulas that describe fluid mechanics.

And also most everyone already knows that meditation is different from contemplation.
Heck there is even a famous quote:
"Meditation: its not what you think it is"

Lastly understanding means to be outside of something, so it can be viewed objectively and compared to other "things" or processes. Whereas experience is about merging or becoming one with "things" or processes. So when "the universe" is experienced mystically, the self is dropped --- so there is no self to understand any'thing'.

Hence none of the enlightened people have made any scientific advances, inventions, or the like based on their mystical experiences.

Mystical experience or 'understanding' is simply about the illusion of there being a separate self not only dissolving, but life after this insight being both less stressful, and more compassionate. Without this change indeed all we have is theory. But when the change happens, mundane knowledge shows no increase, other than better psychological understanding of humans. IMO
