Never.  My best friend and I were asked that once and we both realize that we are probably great friends because we arenā€™t the type of men to make passes in public.

I donā€™t develop crushes so easy these days, so if I crush, Iā€™ll just say ā€œhey Iā€™m crushing on youā€


That usually works.  Donā€™t be one of those dudes.  You donā€™t need to do that and all it does is perpetuate a culture where guys think itā€™s ok to pressure women and women think most guys are like thatā€” which makes it harder for guys like me to build any level of trust.

I think itā€™s douchey behavior and I think 80% of women might agree

I think itā€™s fine if women do it.  Sometimes women want you to talk to them.  They make it very obvious.

As for the subject at hand...

The way I met my best friend was by seeing him eating alone, walking up, asking if I could sit with him and talking.

I don't think any good can come from closing off the public space as a means of meeting people, for romantic purposes or otherwise.

I never hit on women in public, and very rarely in the right circumstances.  Just seems fucking rude when they are trying to go about their day.

I never had trouble having attachment free sex quite frequently when I wasn't married.


My advice is don't be creepy? 

Most guys can't handle that simple task.

I've never done anything but try and make friends with women, yet I have, AFAIK, never been 'friendzoned'.

When it comes to women I either seem too intense/undesirable, or the opposite.

I honestly can't remember a time it's been anything but.

Sometimes it can actually work in reverse. Someone you were just hooking up with but are now friends with (maybe with benefits still).
