Wow I feel bad for you deprived males who can't seem to find great women.  They're everywhere.  Women in general aren't evil at all and if you think that you need to get out more

If any sex is evil, it's the males.  We've formed a patriarchal society that benefits the males and SHAFTS the females.  If anything I feel bad for the women, having to suffer through the socio-cultural bullshit that  males have created over time.

Haha what a silly video :tongue2:  A rather ugly male too...

I don't really feel sorry for all us females, I am mostly annoyed by the fact lots of them willingly let males make the rules outside the home. Some of the common attitudes don't leave room for us who aren't interested in having kids etc. (like getting to high positions in most workplaces). It's pretty hard to get any respect being a female

Well it's nature versus nurture... if it works for you, nice.

Personally I'm all about being myself, I don't see any huge advantage in acting... then again I just hate stupid drama, manipulation etc., maybe these games are more enjoyable to others. :smile2:

i suppose you're right - and these games are somewhat enjoyable for me (i have a natural tendency to analyze everything in the world - so this type of stuff is a gold mine for me).

i also don't want to put off the impression that i'm off being Alpha-Male trying to find my next long-term relationship.  When i find a girl i consider girlfriend material, i'm always myself, gotta make sure they're interested in ME and not alpha-me. but if i'm at a bar or a big party just tryin to get laid, its Alpha all the way.

Man there are so many lame generalizations in this thread.

Aplha male is a learned trait? Not necessarily, at all.

"There are so many lame generalizations"

and then followed it on the next line by saying:

"Alpha male isn't a learned trait, at all"

So what is 'being yourself?'  Following your impulses?  Who people are changes throughout life.  To 'be yourself,' for most, is to act how you've acted in the past.  Many people have developed habits of self-consciousness and avoidance could stand to benefit from acting in ways they are not used to acting.

It doesn't have to be phony, or manipulative.

Be yourself to me means

to do what pleases you and only you
to live for yourself and not for anyone else

there are exceptions for sig others but you can still basically manage to do the above if you truly find the right person do live with

That is very true also. I typed that because I got the impression the person I quoted put a lot of effort into acting like others would want him to be...

I rarely take other people's opinions of me into consideration, but that's just me, I'm a lone wolf mostly. I don't feel comfortable faking anything. I've learned to show different sides of myself to people though, often you don't see yourself the same way everyone else does...

Ideally people would let go of some social roles, brought by gender, financial status etc. and do what they want. :sun:  Haha I hope this makes any sense, English is not my native language and I'm pretty drunk so.. :crazy2:
