why dont (most) women even have aspirations beyond keeping up with the rest of the women?

I define my life by phases of how I get attention.

see, this just ties in to the post I made about my girlfriend the other week... now more than ever I feel justified, even bordering on necessity, that the majority of women need to be culturally refined on a personal level.
seriously, you have a vagina, and they are wonderful, and Im sure that is all you think you need in life because so far it has served you well. Doors open, shiny rocks are dangled, tickets arent written and beers are paid for.... but why compromise, settle for mediocrity, position your life to maximize security financially and emotionally?

and im not excluding myself out of this... I look back at all my extremely gorgeous ex girlfriends and wonder what ever possessed them to settle for my smelly cock and average looks.

and I know what many of you will say.... maybe you should try talking to different girls...

well maybe that is the ultimate conundrum... just like Groucho said "I wouldnt join any club that would have someone like me as a member" (close enough to original quote)... I dont want to be with anyone that would settle for me.

granted it is a little self loathing, but atleast Im not looking for someone to make me happy, or make my life better. Im beginning to look at relationships as a business venture... think of all the money I save on hookers.

That video targets the majority of women, just as the stereotypical guy would be a beer drinking, sport worshiping, nearly illiterate buffoon. We're all unoriginal, and none of us will accomplish anything significant, but who cares :shrug:

some people accomplish not being so imprisoned in life, that to me is pretty significant.  I look at all these miserable guys with wives and kids and no free time and feel sorry, truly.  kids having kids.

most of what that video said about women is definitely true, but that doesn't mean another video could have been made about men as well.

the man's version would probably entail him cheating on her, being a pig, teaching his children to hide their emotions, gettin drunk with the boys, etc, etc...

Yeah, I see that every day in my older brother. At 20 years he became a father and (more or less) a husband, now he's in for the long run with only a little room to maneuver between what kind of job he wants (nothing that requires schooling, and it's all about money as he has a family to support), and whether he'll go fishing/bowling/etc on his day off.

yeah but mens dreams arent so myopic and stunted.

while little girls are planning their wedding and picking out their wedding dress from the age of 8... 8 year old boys are dreaming of being an astronaut.

sure women are more pragmatic about it... but what does that say when from the get go, the age where anything is possible, they are already planning an unoriginal and bland existence.

That's true for some (though I think the idea of gearing your daughter up for marriage to a successful man is becoming much less common), but who's fault is that? What eight year old girl will be able to resist social conditioning from such a young age? As for little boys dreaming of becoming an astronaut - sure, we all had our idea of what the coolest job would be when we grow up, but I think the follow-up is more important than the initial conception. How many of us realized/will realize our dreams of eight years old?

Buying the latest video game system.

Men as well. The default gender roles presented to both men and women are profoundly vapid. This is all about gender. Women are not biologically programmed to be empty consumer shells any more than men are...it is all social conditioning. Gender is a construct.

Again with the self hating! Its not someone elses job to make you happy or better, that is your job. But when you find someone who wants to give you the gift of love on top of the love you give yourself it is an amazing thing.

but that is the whole point. there is no "reaching for the stars" and it defines their entire existence. it permeates every fiber of their being and everything they do.

how many women have you heard complain about their sex life... and they are ok with it? because "he doesnt beat me" or "he is sweet".
women are almost entirely incapable of venturing out of their comfort zone... once something has become routine they stick with it for the sake of routine. they seem to be ok with sub-contentedness

On another note, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the desire to have kids and raise a family.

I see a lot of women today putting their kids on hold to maintain that career. I for one definitely wish I saw more of my mom when I was growing up, but she was too busy with her job for me. :sad:

Im not at all concerned with social standing. I have dated a myriad of women, who at first glance seemed very different from each other... but eventually you rip a fart in front of them and going out on a date means spend 300$ on dinner, instead of Wendy's and a movie.
just like in the OP video about the camping trip... a guy wanted to go camping, for reasons like "getaway", "geting kinky/primal", being alone together, grow closer, have fun.
but a woman looks at it from the perspective of how they will enjoy this in the future.
why the fuck do you think women always take pictures?

and it doesnt take me dating someone to be able to see this phenomena. I have a very diverse range of friends with "significant others" and it is all the same.

im not doubting that there are cool chicks out there. But that was my Groucho point... they are usually strong, independant, ambitious women who arent going to be swooned like the bar flies. basically, the only people I would want to date are girls that dont want to date. (put your own word there like marriage or whatever).
it seems that you cant have both by virtue of innate qualities/philosophies cancelling the other out. The girl that wants the perfect wedding and 2.5 kids in suburbia isnt going to be strong, independant and ambitious... because that suburbanite philosophy cannot coexist with the aforementioned qualities....
and vice versa.
now Im not saying that these independant women arent willing to date someone, but they dont fall for any swinging dick that buys them a beer. Those type of girls usually have a serious career and it takes chance and luck to first bump into them, and then months or years of knowing them, being yourself, and mostly being a good friend until finally after a decade of blue balls she has too much wine one night and goes skinny dipping with you and lets you hunch her. which at that point either you have to confess your undying love for her the next day or wallow in the shame of what will probably be called "a huge mistake" followed by "but we should still be friends".
