Gun ownership has little to nothing to do with safety for me.
For me, it’s as simple as the fact that in no point in human history has it or will it ever be a good idea to disarm the proletariat. :shrug:

These are people who are out of their gourd because of a mixture of stimulant psychosis and sleep deprivation delirium.

You don't confront such a person. You back the fuck away and something they hallucinate will distract them from you.


If this sort of thing happens in your trip group, two strong and able people should net him or her with a blanket or open sleeping bag and roll the freakout in it like a mummy, then comence the talkdown. If the hours passed and they didnt come down and still are stark raving bonkers you get them to the hospital.

In my trip group we'd flatten them with haldol + a benzo in case of a fullblown prolonged psychosis, or just a good dose of a good benzo if its just a matter of getting to sleep.

Amazing what a nights sleep can do as to people who are stimulant psychotic and havent slept.

I apologize for my over-zealous reaction, I didn't mean to get personal...

That said, I stand by what I said, I think it is morally wrong to own a gun even if it is your legal right.

Because, putting it simply, if you buy a gun then you are considering that you might actually kill another human being with it.

Otherwise you could just use a fake one to intimidate people, but to buy a real one indicates that you actually would use it.

This is wrong, no one should have guns in the first place, because it just makes it so much easier to kill.

Laws are there to stop people from attacking you and/or your family, and if they don't work, then you have to defend yourself, but preferably not with guns, use non-lethal force.

If the laws work, then why do you need guns?
People should be too afraid to attack you, lest they will spend the rest of their life in prison, so there should be no need for you have a gun.

Nuclear weapons, guns, and all weapons are nonsensical, because before long the enemy gets a hold of the same weapons too, so you need to get one step ahead of them with ever more expensive and effective killing machines.

Simply, if Jack has a gun and Jill doesn't, then Jack is at an advantage.
When Jill obtains one too, then they are equal again, so they should both abandon their guns and go back to punching eachother.

But no, people keep their guns, it's nonsensical, anyone should see that.

Put your gun down, and if someone shoots you then at least you can die knowing that you are better than them because you did not buy a gun.


The reason I have such strong opinions is that I would not trust myself with a gun.

I consider myself to be reasonably well balanced, but there is no way I would trust myself with a gun, I would not be sure my family were safe if a gun-wielding me were around them.

Therefore I conclude that those who are less stable than me cannot be trusted with guns either.
