This isn't about emails. I see you trying to move the goal posts.

Again, everybody, even Ford's friend, denied the accusations.

Be mad if you want, but many people support Kavanaugh. I am one of them.

Kavanaugh himself wrote in those emails about drinking so much he doesn't remember what happened.

He said he had never done that yesterday.

That is called lying.

It's really not that complicated.

You can talk about goal posts or whatever all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that there is an inconsistency there. He is clearly not telling the truth.

As a judge, he needs to be able to tell the truth.

https://abc7news.com/politics/brett-kavanaughs-yale-roommate-says-he-believes-second-accuser/4330055/

His college roommate-

Quote:
"It is from this experience that I concluded that although Brett was normally reserved, he was a notably heavy drinker, even by the standards of the time, and that he became aggressive and belligerent when he was very drunk. I did not observe the specific incident in question, but I do remember Brett frequently drinking excessively and becoming incoherently drunk."

Gee, I wonder what else he lied about yesterday?

So he has admitted in his own words that he has been so drunk he doesn't remember what happened.

But yesterday he said that he had never done that exact thing, even though he has previously admitted in timestamped emails that he has.

How do you explain that, XUL?

Do you believe that judges should be liars?

Do you believe that judges should be allowed to tell lies before their country and government?

Aside from the confirmation shit show(s), that's the heart of the problem - It shouldn't be a lifetime appointment. 10 years, 15 tops. But changing that would require an amendment to the constitution which would be a whole new and monumental shit show.

Yeah, it's antiquated system. How we've gone this far without a term limit is beyond me.

It’s because he’s on their side and it therefore doesn’t matter anymore.

Step one: Dems stack the court.

Step two: GOP goes insane over it. Possibly adds more seats when they regain power.

Step three: nation slowly realizes 9 unelected, lifetime appointed, partisan aristocrats deciding the fate of our nation is incredibly undemocratic.

Because why. You think he’s a good person and he’ll not let emotions get in the way of justice?

Because he has the presumption of innocence in the face of a crime without any corroboration.

Further, he has an impeccable record.

XUL why would the Democrats be fucked? Why do you or anyone see this as a  Democrat vs Republican thing?

This is a life time appointment

Because they just tried to end his and his family's lives.

He also called the Democrats out as having planned this whole farce.

Wow. This is the way you people think? A federal judge is going to use his position  as a federal judge to exact revenge on his perceived enemies. You really reveal a lot about your personal ethics when you make statements like this.

Republicans are fucked up people.

"End his and his family's lives"

If I'm XUL, asking a guy "you didnt rape anyone did you?" before putting him in one of the most powerful positions in the world for the rest of his life is basically launching a cruise missile into his family's home.

Answer my question.

Why do you think it is acceptable for a potential Supreme Court judge to lie before a Senate Committee?

Try to explain yourself.

No one is charging him with a crime (yet). Confirmation hearings ARE NOT CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS. THERE IS NO PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE. He needs to prove his suitability to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. His behavior yesterday demonstrates he is not qualified for the job.

This shit show that you’re seeing right now is just another symptom of the sickness that plagues the United States

We’re not good people. We want people to think we are, but we aren’t are we

We're good people, just too lazy to vote in too many cases. So we ended up with a very noisy, dishonest and belligerent minority running the show.

Look he’s going to be confirmed most likely. Hopefully there will be some follow up and we can impeach him later. It will free up a seat.

You said it. Half the conservatives in this thread seem to think it’s appropriate for kavanaugh to exact revenge on Democrats because the women he assaulted had the nerve to speak up before it was too late. They think this is all a political game because that is the way they think.
