First post, last post... why?

OK - maybe there is some serious reason to have this "first post" "last post" "other post" option to click when posting messages... but does it annoy anybody else? Maybe I'm just a lazy bastard, but I always forget to click it, and then have to go back and click it. Could we have it default to "first post" if not taken away completely? Just a question out of sheer laziness.
