Other drugs forums posting denial

Hi!
Ive tried to post a question about LSD, and one about Herbal XTC on the "other drugs forum". Unluckily, Ive never managed to meet the criteria for it to be allowed.
Couldnt the mods write a short pm, why it wasnt legit. That way I can rephrase it.

Did you follow all the guidelines?
Most importantly did you use the SEARCH function first.

I really wish there was an automated function to PM a user a brief reason for rejection of a thread. Sadly, I think this would involve customizing the board software too much. Perhaps the good people at Infopop will add it to a future release of UBB.threads...

Is it really so hard to click on the person's name and go to "Send a private message..."??? I think it would be nice to receive a PM saying that the post was rejected and explaining exactly why.

Actually it is, seeing as how sometimes there are 17 posts to read decide on and approve, and sometimes the mods have to do the searching to see if the post is redundant since (most likely) the user didn't. Then to take the time to send a message to all the users whose post we've rejected. On top of living a life and perhaps moderating another forum or two. So to sum it up, yeah it's sometimes hard to do. I try my hardest to PM users whose post i've rejected and/or suggest sending it somewhere else; for the most part replies to posts are not included in this.

If an initial post was rejected by me, for the most part you will know it and why. sometimes though it's not that easy or time does not allow. I wish there was an automatic notifier or some form to check that lists generic reasons, but there isn't. We've discussed the idea of an automatic reply before.

Really, speaking for myself I just do not have the time to PM someone every time I reject a post. On occasions when someone took the time to write something lengthily and only breaks one small rule I will approve the post and edit out the bad part. But most rejections I see are for redundant questions, dosage info or just nonsense posting. The rules are quite clear in these instances.
